It's a Zonkey!

A zonkey is a highly unusual hybrid between a zebra and donkey. The gestation period of a zebra is twelve months, so it’s not difficult to connect the dots. During her time living within the community last year, she had obviously become acquainted with an amorous donkey. The zonkey combines the sturdy body of its donkey sire and the striped legs of its zebra mother, which makes for a striking creature. While it should otherwise lead a normal life, zonkeys are mules, meaning that it will be unable to successfully breed once it reaches maturity.

We’re happy to report that mum and baby are thriving. Their new home is in an area that isn’t plagued by heavy predation and thanks to the lush conditions, water and grass plentiful it is a good place to call home. We have over the decades raised many orphaned zebras, and in time, we will add to this unusual pair when it becomes time to release any zebra orphans, while this unusual pair wait for some wild zebra's to discover them both. Until that day comes, they seem quite content to spend their days grazing side-by-side, a sight that makes us all stop and marvel at the wonders of nature.

Here is your answer.

Zonkey Classification and Evolution
The Zonkey is a hybrid animal that is created by cross-breeding two different species of animal that belong to the same genetic group. Technically though, an individual is only classed as a Zonkey if it is sired from a male Zebra and female Donkey, as one that has a male Donkey and female Zebra parents is known as a Zedonk.

Nature has a way of putting a stop to this crap. The offspring is sterile and can’t breed.

Perhaps if the colt were a she, then she might be a debra. But then, if the colt thought itself a female, then yes, 'she' should be a debra.

I dunno… Sounds pretty sexist allowing the male priority in the classification sequence.
I need to call my local commissar to see if I should feel offended!

“A black and white Ass. Reminds me of a recent President.”

We must not insult the Zonkey, who has already accomplished far more than Dorkbama the Muslim eunuch quota boy.

NOT a “Zonkey”. Its Zeedonk.

A Zorse (Zebra/Horse) or (Horse/Zebra)

Google Eclyse, a very rare Father-Horse, Mother-Zebra, usually the other way around, hence the striking coloring difference. The Zebra part is all Zebra, the horse part is all horse.

zonkey...not such a big deal. But, WHY? Who cares?

MULES are half horse (stamina) and half donkey (nasty temperament).
The nuns who first went east from Mexico City to evangelize/educate the Yucatan always rode on mules. The horses would always RUN at the first sign of trouble. Donkeys would stand their ground and fight. They were too small for too much service.

MULES were ideal. They had the stamina/size of horses and the temperament of donkeys...but were larger and harder to kill/eat for predators.
FUNCTIONAL: perfect for those good nuns.
