Thanks for the ping.

Is anyone else noticing that the longer we shelter in place,
the higher the number of cases gets, and the more people
die?

I thought I was supposed to be doing this for a reason.

Who are these people coming down with COVID-19 in record
numbers? How the hell did they catch it at home?

Sheltering in place encourages family and roommate transmissions, even though it may excel at stopping crowd transmissions. Another reason it should end tomorrow.

(I know, I know, I’ve been saying end it April 30, but that horse left the barn. May 1 is convenient enough, since the current Fauxci rules are supposed to end today.)

They’re not STAYING at home.

The day after ‘we’ locked down, the parking lot at the local walmart was totally full, cars parked up and down the road. More than black friday even. Giant gaggles of people milling around in the parking lot.

Turns out, with nothing ELSE to do (because it was all closed down) whole families hopped into the conveyance of choice and headed to walmart. To socialize with hundreds of their nearest and dearest.

We have a neighbor that has made 2 or 3 trips EVERY SINGLE DAY to go somewhere. Walmart, drugstore, hardware store, sonic, drive thru, grocery store. She literally can’t stay home for more than a cpl daylight hours.

Neighbor on the other side had a family reunion the weekend of Easter. We didn’t notice a smaller than normal crowd this year.

When people say ‘lockdown doesn’t work’, they think we actually, you know, locked down.

We slowed it down bigtime though.

It’s not gone though. As soon as we open back up, cases will increase in 10 days-2 weeks.

WE are going to stay home though, until a working treatment protocol is developed and fast enough testing that it will make a difference BEFORE we need to be admitted to the hospital. ‘We’ aren’t there yet. WE will let the people who think they need a haircut or steak dinner just to ‘get out of the house’ be the guinea pigs for the treatments/tests/protocols. Flubros to the rescue!

Happy to report that the Commissioners in my county have petitioned Pa. Gov. Wolf for our county to open next Friday May 8th. Doing so with appropriate data to justify that request.

...Also after meeting with Hospital Officials and Staff Hospitals will open this Monday for Admissions, Elective Surgeries etc.

Additionally Road and Bridge Construction will begin tomorrow.

it kills me, I think they tried to sell us, that any virus, that we are not in contact with, will die eventually.

but to truly do that, we need to be welded in our homes like the Chinese did.

no one in, no one out, for minimum 3 weeks so the virus has no means to replicate...

except, now we find it in cats and dogs.

that means all it needs is an animal and it will replicate...

We need to quarantine cows, now, for 3 weeks, to slow the spread...

(I better net give them any ideas.)

= =

I saw big numbers for NJ and NY....more nursing home deaths? Apartment dwellers?

What are some of the other hot areas? I haven’t seen stats/map, today.

Imagine what it would be like without the mitigation.

“Who are these people coming down with COVID-19 in record

Mostly they didn’t. They went shopping with the kids. They visited the in-laws. They didn’t take it seriously. Or their FluBro brother or kid went out and brought it home.

They didn’t catch it at home. They weren’t staying home. That’s the problem. Half the houses around our two subdivisions have work crews coming and going. Hey, putting up twinkle lights is essential. Those crews drive to get material so leave/pick up CV off gas pump handles. Then they go into stores for materials spreading more CV. Then they go get something to eat passing it around some more. Then they bring their kids to work and later their wives come get the kids. Then the home owners have to come out to inspect things before heading into town to buy a new pair of shoes at Wally World since the shoe store isn’t open. On the way home, they stop at the nail salon because it stays open even though the cops tell them to shut down. While the wives get their nails done, the husbands go across the street to the gambling joint which the cops also tell every day to shut down but they don’t.

And then the home owners decide to have a family reunion bringing in people from who knows where so there’s six different strains of CV all at one house. Of course, they all need to go rent boats and jet skis and go to the store for water toys. Half the reunion-ers decide the house is too crowded so they rent cabins and spread the virus to the housekeeping and the people who rent the cabins next. And they all need to shop at grocery stores for the bbq and stop at convenience stores for junk food. And, and, and.
