WATERLOO, Iowa - Tyson Foods will begin limited operation Thursday of its huge pork processing plant in Waterloo, more than two weeks after closing the facility because of a coronavirus outbreak among workers, the company announced Tuesday.
Tyson said workers have been invited to tour the plant Wednesday to see enhanced safety measures and social distancing procedures that have been implemented. The plant has been closed since April 22, and the Iowa Department of Public
Health reports 444 workers have tested positive for the virus. The plant is Arkansas-based Tysons largest pork processing operation, with the ability to process 19,500 hogs per day. That accounts for 3.9% of the U.S. pork processing capacity, according to the National Pork Board.
All those who will return to work have been tested for COVID-19, the disease cased by the virus, the company said. Those who have tested positive will remain on sick leave until they can return to work.

Yay :)
Anyone here ever repeats that I used the word “yay” and... .
Well, nothing :)
Ghinese processor?
Correct?
Like Smithfield?
Negative. Tyson’s still American owned and America-based.
good to know.
I need to find their line of meats
I assume they sell under a number of different brands

“Together with its subsidiaries, it operates major food brands, including Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm, Ball Park, Wright Brand, Aidells, and State Fair.”
“It supplies Yum! Brands chains that use chicken, including KFC and Taco Bell, as well as McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, Wal-Mart, Kroger, IGA, Beef O’Brady’s, small restaurant businesses, and prisons.”
WalMart definitely gets some of the crappier quality from Tyson... Anyway, they do have some history of supporting the Clintons, so you may want to take that into consideration - among other issues. But at least they’re not Chinese or stealth Chinese.
Well gotta get that pork processed and sent to China. China demands pork, lots of it. Gotta keep them happy and fed. </sarc>
So what happens when Dr. Faucci discovers that the meat is contaminated with covid19?
The meat is not contaminated. And cooking kills everything!!
When the closing was announced, I bought up 21 pounds of bacon. Expect to continue to see meat shortages in the coming weeks.
I also bought 50 pounds of chicken.
