Take a drive up to Newfound Gap this weekend.

Might look pretty neat with all the trees greened up.

This used to be reported as a cold front coming down from Canada.

Not ominous sounding enough anymore.

Yawn...

Accumulating spring snow can really bust up some trees, though. I recall 13” in April up in Highlands NC and it looked like an ice storm had come through.

And it’s devastating to crops and orchards.

They are calling for snow up here in NH Saturday morning. And “on and off” during the day Saturday.

My wife is dying to get our vegetables in the garden. Looks like we’ll be waiting till the first week in June.

Here in South Jersey the blueberries are in full blossom. We get a freeze it will be pretty bad economically for the farmers.

Honestly. The inability of people being able to deal with nature being what it is is frightening.

Expecting just light snow mixed with rain in mid-coast Maine. Thank God for ocean moderation. Believe it or not you get sick of seeing the white stuff after 5 months of it, although we had it easy this year.

Can happen...Have experienced:
— snow flurries Mother’s Day weekend,
Lake Champlain VT
— snow flurries, early June, Franconia
Notch NH
—60 degrees Dec 1, Beverly MA.
Jet skis on the harbor

Feb 2014: NY Times article says “we
could be seeing the end of snow as we
know it”
Feb 2015: New England and NY hit by
storm after storm, 3 feet of snow when
accumulated

Too late, they’re everywhere. My old boss from NYC once told me ‘I’ve always felt I was a Southerner’.

If the Weather Channel didn’t give it a name they’re slipping up. Polar Vortex Bob or Polar Vortex Alberto, that’s the channel I know and love.
