'Never give up, never despair': The Queen says VE Day generation would still recognise Britain's lock-downed nation in electrifying speech - exactly 75 years after her father marked the end of WWII in Europe

The Queen was surrounded by historic personal mementos from the war years as she paid emotional tribute to the wartime generation in an electrifying speech on the 75th anniversary of VE Day. Her aquamarine and diamond clip brooches were an 18th birthday present from her father King George VI in April 1944 - just over a year before the end of the conflict in Europe. The two art deco-style pieces, which the Queen wore separately in a diagonal setting, were made by Boucheron from baguette, oval and round diamonds and aquamarines. She also chose to wear the precious jewellery during her Diamond Jubilee televised speech in 2012 - her only other televised address marking an anniversary.

During the Blitz most Londoners went about their lives even with the risk of death because they did not want the enemy to win. Today the entire western world cowers in fear over something which according to one study shows the average age of death of 75.

Get a grip.

When the bombers came overhead they hid under their beds or went into shelters, too. And the leadership was noticeably sequestered in bunkers as much as possible.

They kept working, too, and so do we.

China has just bombed America’s “old-folks” homes and killed a hell of a lot more than the Japs killed at Pearl Harbor.

America has the attention span of a mosquito.

I love the Queen. Not so much some of the totally classless people in her family.

All the news outlets are calling yesterday “The anniversary of the end of WW II.

The idiots don’t realize that that date was ONLY the end of hostilities in Europe-—Thus VE Day. Victory In Europe.

WW II ended in August, 1945, after Truman bombed Hiroshima & Nagasaki in Japan....which resulted in the Japanese Emperor signing papers with Gen McArthur to end the war in Japan/Asia. That day is called VJ Day. Victory Over Japan.

More evidence of the poor education anyone is getting since about 1970.

Queen Elizabeth II is the ONLY world leader in any country who actually served in the military during WW II.

Obama refused to attend ceremonies with her during his years screwing up this country.

Obama’s hatred for the British is based upon his father’s accounts of Obama’s grandfather being captured & imprisoned by the Brits when the MAu Mau were terrorizing Kenya.

Another example of Obama’s true character.
