We need to elect better Republicans.

Any old R jersey is not cutting it.

Kind of disappointed to find Cotton and Perdue on that list of Bush League Republicans.

They are willing to do this to “fight terrorism” but unwilling to stop the terrorists from coming here. Meanwhile, just the other day, the FBI leaked the name of the Saudi official who was part of the 9/11 operation. Can we please take our own side at some point? Why is that always impossible?

Honestly, I am far more concerned about these systems being used to surveil, harass, oppress, and imprison American citizens than I am for any lost terrorist intelligence.

Incumbents are reelected 97% of the time, so politics isn’t the answer.

Exactly. Law abiding American citizens are subjected to surveillance while we just let anyone in the world waltz right in. Tyranny on the one hand, anarchy on the other.

David Perdue is up for re-election. We also have Kelly Loefler running for the Senate.

Looks like two GA Senate seats are going blue

DC hasn’t such lawful power.

All DC inhabitants who don’t defend USConstitution, are enemies of it. Enemies of USConstitution are by definition traitors. Duh.

...failed to pass in the U.S. Senate on Wednesday by a single vote.

They write this as if, "Shucks, just missed!"

I've got news for you, when a vote passes or fails by one vote that immediately tells me, as in this case, most everyone wanted this amendment to fail. This tells me the voting was scrupulously orchistrated to allow people to vote how they publicly wanted to be perceived with just enough to ensure there would be sufficient votes allowing it to fail.

I haven't seen the government using the powers of the patriot act and it's FISA court doing much besides serving political interests of the body politic. On one hand that's good, at least they are busy investigating themselves most of the time. On the other hand, if you find yourself in someone powerful's crosshairs, you're doomed.

Let's hope they stay busy spring on each other instead of we the people.

Seriously, what the F difference does any of this make?

It’s abundantly clear that these bastards are going to do any damned thing they want and NOBODY is going to be able to hold them accountable.

I think we’re one vote away from ever having any hope for this country as-founded.

We need to elect better Republicans. Any old R jersey is not cutting it.

It's a power thing.

When either side is in power they want the power to use it to go after their enemies. That's why FISA will never be removed.

Everyone wants the power to use it.
