SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. A Scottsdale mall closed early Saturday evening as cities across the country braced for more unrest over George Floyd's death.
That didn't stop a crowd of protesters from breaking into several of the stores and looting them Saturday night.

As troubling as these riots are, what is more troubling is the lack of response from law enforcement. The cops knew the 'protester's were coming. The decision was made to get innocent people out of harms way, by shutting down the area several hours before the looting was scheduled to start.
We live about one mile from this area, so we took a brief tour of the damage: Neiman Marcus, PF Changs, Apple, Dicks Sporting Goods, Crate and Barrel and others had all been damaged and/or looted.
These riots are planned by domestic terrorists and they are scheduling them in effluent suburbs. The police have decided to not stop them, but rather to let them destroy our neighborhoods, restaurants, shopping centers and night clubs
In time like these, the police protect 1) themselves, and 2) government officials and facilities. We civilians and our property are on our own.
If looters break in. You shoot them
This Mayor has impacted a previously top police force in Phoenix and I bet Scottsdale won’t call on Maricopa with better results with the Democrat in charge there.
Governor’s 8:00 curfew will help.
They hit Dicks?! The bulb must have burned out on their Virtue Signal.
And when you try to protect yourself? Then you are guilty, and need to prove your innocence.
Let them have Dicks
The Dick’s CEO probably offered up his store as a rallying point because he’s so helpful.
unreal
Scottsdale !
Who the hell is deciding this stupid decsions?
Its feeds more riots add robbery by doing nothing
I believe the word you were looking for is AFFLUENT. Not Effluent. There is a huge difference in meaning.
Eh, who cares, right? It is just stuff. Actually protecting property using force would inevitably result in lawsuits costing the city tens of millions whereas the courts have been quite clear that the public can not force officers to actually do their job.
The mathematics of the situation says just let the looters do whatever they want and come in after they’ve exhausted themselves to protect the fire department.
That we’ve let it get to this point is pretty insane.
Oh, we are all going to pay.
Target and these other chains arent going to take a loss.
These Democrat Mayors And Governors are letting this happen because they know other people will pay for this. If they clamp down on the looting and rioting, then maybe the Democrats lose the black vote. Better to just let it go on and let those people in Wyoming pay for it.
Dudes...especially.
Yup. We have lost civility, the government has failed/fallen, and hence, are in a state of civil war. Give no quarter. Show no mercy.
I’m only a mile or so away from the mall, and I was hoping to do some clothes shopping tomorrow. These people ruin it for everyone.
This is the nicest part of town. The looters are simply targeting the good stuff. The Apple Store has huge and expensive windows that had to be specially made. It angered me some years ago seeing that some scumbag had shot at one of them.
The police do not train for rioting and don’t have the stomach for what it would take to end a riot by force. The police also don’t have the facilities to process rioters, and it would amount to catch and release.
I don’t think the curfew does anything. Read:
Rumor has it theyre going to hit the Arrowhead Mall in Glendale tonight.
Those above the common officers are letting sh*t burn, destroyed and looted by design and stand down orders. Ultimately, this is all about the same thing as COVID was: get Trump and blame it all on him. Tale a look at liberal sites and social media. It is sickening in how they think and feel.
