During a Thursday call with commissioner Adam Silver, the league's board of governors approved a plan that will restart the 2019-20 NBA season in late July. Representatives of the National Basketball Players Association gave their approval Friday in a virtual call.
An agreement ends months of uncertainty after the league on March 11 suspended play over health and safety concerns brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
The return-to-play plan will send 22 teams to Orlando, Fla., where eight "regular season" games for each of the 22 teams will determine the seeding for a complete, 16-team playoff field. The season will restart July 31, and the NBA Finals will end no later than Oct. 12.

Simple. "BLACK LIVES MATTER." And a vice presidential candidate, most probably a person of color (new money is on Muriel Bowser, DC mayor).
First, the NBA playoffs are being played in Orlando, Florida, a MAJOR ELECTION SWING STATE. With a black female vice presidential candidate, she will be attending the games, most probably with Obama, and certainly not with Donald Trump. In addition, by holding the playoffs in Orlando, they won’t be just playing basketball. No, no, no. The main reason is that there will be tribute after tribute after tribute about George Floyd along with countless other Democratic Party platform speeches. Most probably they will suspend Rule 2), which requires players to stand appropriately at attention during the National Anthem. I won’t be surprised if both teams kneel at every game, including the Canadian anthem played during Raptor games. Finally, very few fans will be allowed at the games, but you can bet your bottom dollar that no non-BLM supporting members will be anywhere on the premises.
Look for massive virtue signalling, emblems on the uniforms that will double as in-kind donations to the DNC, and I wouldn't even put it past them to get all their white players to SPECIFICALLY ENDORSE BLM. To me, this is a slam dunk.
As an added bonus for the commies, Orlando was probably Donald Trump’s favored alternate location for the Republican Convention after North Carolina booted the GOP out of the state. Although it may have been difficult otherwise even without the NBA, Orlando has essentially locked out the GOP for good this year.
Longshot, but possible: They will not allow Orlando Police on site to supplement security, but rather emphasize their own "community rapid response officers" or some other rot like that.
The NFL, scheduled to start on September 10, will most probably start the first week of October, making sure not to overlap any NBA Finals games (as much as possible), which will be the most political of the entire NBA tournament. But keeping in mind the Drew Brees Tweet in which he has outed himself as the worst Racist in New Orleans History (or at least back to Andrew Jackson), the league has stated that they are going to take extreme measures to promote Black Lives Matter issues. Again, with a black vice presidential candidate, she will be highlighted at certain games, along with litany of BLM themes for the games. Notably missing at all the NFL games will be any semblance of military or law enforcement promotion; indeed, the NFL may even promote their own security force that noticeably EXCLUDES local law enforcement from the premises.
Indeed, I will go further and state that the security force that will contract with the NFL will take their cue from BLM bullet points, and they will be highly promoted as the intended substitute for police agencies around the country. This is one chance that they can’t afford to pass up. Not sure if Orlando will have the same setup, but they might.
OK...am I a conspiracy theory nut? To be honest, I have a feeling I haven't included ENOUGH things they will do to hijack the election season. The media of course, across the board will be promoting it as such, but the bottom line: This ain't about Sportsball no more.

I care not. I stopped watching the NBA when Steve Nash and the Suns went all-in for illegal immigrants during the AB 15 fiasco. I’ve stopped watching the Diamondbacks for pretty much the same reason. After they started having LGTBQ Night at the ballpark, that was it.
I truly have no idea why anyone watches any kind of professional sports anymore.

German pro soccer has been back in business for a month without a hiccup traveling with a lot more players from City to City. But we just can’t have that because it would help a certain guy named Trump.
I won’t be watching either, and haven’t for some time.
But, the volatile masses need some circuses to keep them busy. Up ‘til now, demonstrations and riots were the only game in town. They were the only venue where one could meet members of the opposite sex. And, if you were so inclined, engage in nearly riskless theft.
