My former downstairs neighbors in our co-op apartment just bought a $700K rowhouse a couple of blocks from our former co-op in Queens. For this, they get a driveway accessible from a back alley and a garage also only accessible by a back alley. An 18' wide rowhouse with a 12 x 15' "yard". Three bedrooms but only 1 bath, so they'll have to add one. And I'm sure the property taxes will go UP to pay for the hit the city took from COVID and from the damage done by protesters. Also, the firecrackers have been going on for weeks until 4 a.m. Would YOU have purchased a home now, in Queens?
Good. If one can protest, one should be able to do whatever else he/she/it wants to. Just don't go to church!
Again, Whatever else he/she/it wants to do. Just do it and just don't go to church!

What is the difference between true and extremely true?
What did they expect from a retarded Marxist?
cities are history...20th century anachronisms.
Their costs rise exponentially as the height goes up.
snce the mid-20th century there is less and less need to concentrate human, material and financial capital on rail lines, roads and waterways-all historical reasons by which cities evolved.
NYC in the 1960’s lost the garment district, the meatpacking district...etc..all that was left was the financial district-and in the last 20 years that finally has moved into the cloud. Floor trading has essentially come to an end. The financial district was all that was left keeping NYC alive and in the game.
No reason at all whatsoever for anybody to need to live there
When you put a nihilist child in charge... NYC is what you get.
At least the peeps are not crapping on the streets, yet.
Yet they will still vote democrap.
We have a nice house and 21 acres of wooded land where we cant see the neighbors for far less than that.
I cannot FATHOM why someone would want to live in NYC or any other major city, in the conditions mentioned in the article.
You could not pay me enough to do it.
Godwin is an excellent writer. NY Post is the best newspaper in America now. I’m thinking of having it delivered. It was always a fun read while riding on the subway. Daily News used to have great columnists who made it worth buying. In fact, I used to subscribe to the NY Times then switched to WSJ back in the 90’s. Now, I have no paper of choice except the NY Post and occasionally the UK Daily Mail which steals from everywhere and writes under its own name. At least it provides some factual reporting.
Some might see him as doing exemplary work for his hoped-for communist revolution.
I have a bunch of car hobby friends on FB who live in the burroughs- Queens Flushing etc.
Many have already moved out, many are in the process. The ones staying are armed to the teeth and setting up neighborhood watches.
The ones staying are like the Kowalksis of Grand Torino. Perfect houses and yards. The new immigrants houses are turning into dumps. They post the pics. I have seen them.
One guy just sold his family home in Flushing of 80 years when the neighbors live like pigs and criminal element moved in.
I can't say if it is because of his commie indoctrination or something in his DNA. But "he's not right in the head," as they say.
I wouldn’t live in a major city if you GAVE me the residence, paid all the taxes, gave me a V-8 Mustang and a Chevy Suburban, and stocked the firg with steak, lobster, shrimp, and Mountain Dew. Especially if I had to obey NYC gun laws to the letter.
It would be hard to do even if I had two bodyguards to accompany me everywhere in the city with a third to remain at the residence any time I was away, and a carry permit as well, and $250,000 a year to spend after taxes.
Not even if a high class lady “escort” were part of the deal.
Does anyone except the right-wingers at NY Post, Hannity, FR, Breitbart, the WH, RNC, GOP, etc. believe this?
Do the trust fund children on 5th avenue or the society women on the UES agree? If they don't, articles like this are a waste of time.
And how little he does. New York has had its share of corrupt and incompetent mayors, but never has it had one who is both of those and also a lazy bum.
My daughter lives in Manhattan and loves it. Being young and single who wouldn’t want to live there? But with the COVID shutdown, all the press of living there are no longer available. Add to that soaring crime and NYC doesn’t look so inviting.
I was wondering if he is using the script for “Fort Apache the Bronx” for a leadership manual to get into the presidency.
