I am a Rockies fan. This is just hard to accept. Not that Ian Desmond was necessary for success, but that he stepped out and refused to play with the team. The racial stuff I just don’t get. He quotes lack of black players, managers and CEO, but fails to accept that Baseball was the FIRST major sport to integrate.
So....is he suggesting that Baseball should have 19% blacks, as with the population, and we should move to ensure that every position and every job has essentially the same statistics as the general population? What are we going to do about the NBA or the NFL. Who was the last ‘White’ running back for the Pittsburgh Stealers, Dallas.......where does it end.?

He is not including black Hispanics as part of this percentage. Does not matter how dark skinned they are. To him, you are only a real “Black” if you are African American with slave roots.

Is he implying that brown skin players are over-represented?
Maybe. Then again perhaps the people paying his salary are overwhelmingly white and maybe they should strep aside from doing that.
I once got a ticket for doing 42 in a 35 cornfield in Ohio.
I passed the last building in town, a Baptist church, and started to speed up. Unbeknownst to me the town limits stretched another half mile down into a cornfield. They were sitting in the church parking lot with their lights off and pulling over everyone who did this.
I had PA plates at the time. They also had a guy from Michigan pulled over. Curiously people with Ohio plates continued on at pretty much any speed. I later learned that it was not actually legal for them to be sitting with their lights off.
Stopped watching after multiple player strikes by pampered millionaires. Don’t care anymore.
