The Left wants Americans to feel hopeless (Vanity)

I was just reading about a study out of the University of Minnesota of Hydroxycloroquine as a treatment for Covid-19. The study found that HCQ with zinc had no effect on the virus and a lot of side effects.

The study had a disclaimer where only 58% of participants actually had been tested for Covid-19. But wait there's more. All participants had been recruited electronically and details of the study were collected electronically. The study was funded by private donors. It's very suspicious.

Then it hit me. The Left simply wants Americans to feel hopeless in the face of a pandemic. That's pretty horrible if true.

Not only is a possible treatment withheld that might help with this plague, the effect is a hopelessness and a sickened American populace. Why would they do this? I think the Democrats are wagering that if enough Americans feel hopeless they will abandon Trump and vote for the alternative.

Welcome aboard. You’re correct. I figured this out months ago. The scamdemic is the left’s only chance, they think, to topple Trump. Let’s hope they are wrong. I think it’s going to backfire on them.

Do you begin to see, then, what kind of world we are creating? It is the exact opposite of the stupid hedonistic utopias that the old reformers imagined. A world of fear and treachery and torment, a world of trampling and being trampled upon, a world which will grow not less but more merciless as it refines itself. Progress in our world will be progress toward more pain.

The old civilizations claimed that they were founded on love or justice. Ours is founded upon hatred. In our world, there will be no emotions except fear, rage, triumph, and self-abasement. Everything else we shall destroy—everything. …

— O’Brien, 1984
This is exactly what the left wants for society. Straight out of the heart of the god of this world.

“Why would they do this?”

As an older friend of mine says, “They’re of the Devil”.

“...I think the Democrats are wagering that if enough Americans feel hopeless they will abandon Trump and vote for the alternative...”

Right out of the DEMOCRAT playbook. Trying to make people miserable, broke, hungry, etc. is exactly what the RAT GOVERNORS are trying to do with their “infinite shutdown” scam. Add to that, the RATS IN MSM clothing, and it is double worse with FAKE AND INCOMPLETE reporting.

There are a number of interest groups at play here, not just the dems...

For starters, pharmaceutical companies have a vested financial interest in avoiding the use of treatment options that are currently available. Given how weak this virus actually is, from the 0.26% mortality rate to the fact that 86% of people who contract the virus have little to no symptoms and so never seek treatment, the actual ramifications of avoiding currently existing treatment options is relatively minor (despite what the news media would prefer you believe). Once a "vaccine" is developed, they stand to make billions off of it, and I don't believe their claims to be "giving it away for free" one bit. That's codespeak for "subsidized by your tax dollars". You don't pay for it out of pocket... you pay for it out of your paycheck throughout the year.

Second, as you suspect, the news media want to make things look as dire as possible, not just to smear Trump, but to keep the economic recovery to a minimum. The economy under Trump's leadership has been robust, and they can't have that in an election year. So... doom and gloom, keep business closed, don't let kids to back to school, it's the end of the world!

Third, and this is my biggest fear... Dems are perpetuating the myth that this thing is the boogeyman... a game changer... and they're doing it so they can push mail-in voting, which has a disgustingly high rate of fraud. Even the dems should be worried about this, because if Americans feel like the election was legitimately stolen (they've made the claim in the past, but at the end of the day, not enough people legitimately believed it), then no matter which side loses, it could very easily devolve into armed conflict... neighbors murdering neighbors... real civil war.

Hope everyone's stocked up on food and ammo.

Hopeless, beat down, miserable, poor, guilt-ridden. Then the government led by them can sweep in and “save” us all.

Having lived in Minnestoopid for ten years, I do not put any stock in any study by the University of Minnesota.

Here’s a very interesting video along the same lines, entitled “Covid 911 Insurgency” - about 9 1/2 minutes, but very well worth it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eEsLE03eE0

See it, and download it if possible, because Big Tech/the Deep State probably won’t allow it to stay up for long.

The Left has been very successful with Democrats feeling helpless.

Thusfar they’ve been pretty successful. Trump needs to start pushing back a lot harder.
