LOL. Seems absurd, but not altogether unlikely. I liked the video last week of the woman getting pantsed by the bison.

Grizz, Bison and Moose probably kill the most people each year. Most people don’t realize just how dangerous Moose can be when calves are around. Moose are really f***ing big. A friend had his truck chased down a snowy road being rammed in the back by a Bull Moose a few years ago. Really f***ed up his tail gate. Stay away from Moose.

Great. Going to Glacier NP next week.

Covid-19 would be my bet. Lack of alternatives put more people into the woods hiking and increasing chances of an encounter.

Wonder if this has anything to do with less Rangers around to stop the dumb@ssery of your average Tourist? ;)

Most of them were not in the park proper but in the greater yellow stone area.

Injuries? The grizzlies must not be hungry. They are playing with their food.

Actually they say it’s dogs, stinging insects (allergic reactions) and farm animals. Among wild animals, deer cause over a million auto accidents, around 200 fatal. But those are different psychologically. Among animals that attack, don’t know. Moose rank up there with deer for auto accidents, particularly fatal, we just don’t have enough of them.

Might. Especially with fewer people in the parks.

I was thinking about which animals were most dangerous if you were hiking in the Rockies. Deer kill people occasionally too.

Mr. GG2 and his business partner got attacked by a moose in their front yard when they lived in Wasilla, AK. Mr.GG2 ducked back in the house and his partner rolled under a work van. The moose kept circling around the vehicle trying to pry the guy out from under with it’s front feet.

Any you mentioned, I’d guess bears for fatalities and attacks, but it’s just a guess.
