Elections for 35 U.S. Senate seats will take place in 2020.[1] Ballotpedia has identified 16 races as general election battlegrounds. Of the 16 seats, four have Democratic incumbents and 12 have Republican incumbents heading into the election.

These battleground seats were selected by examining the results of the 2016 presidential election in the state, whether the incumbent was seeking re-election, and whether the incumbent was serving his or her first term in the Senate. Race ratings from the Cook Political Report, Sabato's Crystal Ball, and Inside Elections with Nathan Gonzales were also considered. For more information on our methodology, click here.

As of September 2020, the Republican Party has a 53-seat Senate majority, while Democrats have 45 seats. There are also two independents who caucus with the Democratic Party. The following are some factors that could influence the outcome of the 2020 Senate elections:

3 Senators are probably vulnerable, they’re from Arizona, Colorado and Maine. I think we should be able to win rest of them.

I winter in Arizona and we come down in October.
We came down in September so we could vote for Martha McSally and Trump.
Praise God we will win

If the upcoming presidential debates go badly for Biden, then all of the R candidates, for each and every political office, could, also, get a positive political bounce, just prior to November 3rd.

53-3 = 50. 50+1 = 51. So we have room to lose one more and still retain the majority with Pence holding the tie breaker.

I think McSally will pull it out by the hair of her chin.

She has hit Kelly pretty hard over the 2nd amendment and his dirty scams.

I think Trump wins Arizona but not sure if Martha McSally keeps the Senate. Hope she gets to ride Trump’s coattails.

Kelly is gun grabbing vermin. Martha is being sabotaged by the McCain/Flake gang of losers. She isn’t enough of a “maverick” for them. Sinema on the other hands smiles and votes straight left. The deep state loves her.

Is McSally running good ads against gun grabber Kelly?

I sure hope so.

We are in TX but have sent her $$.....will be sending her more, too.

She is Ok, but kind of lacking charisma. Rabble rousers do not particularly like her, but she is not McCain/Flake! She got 100% Trump support and the rabble rousers are finally getting the message and coming back to her.
Kelly is running hidden Biden campaign. He got so much money, that he is saturating the media with disgusting adds. Mostly hitting McSally with her votes against Obamacare. Like this poor Veteran with preexisting conditions who cannot get any help because of McSally votes! 100% lie, he can get free veteran care (Trump fix that) and the preexisting conditions will still get him insurance anyway.
It worked for him for a while, but now it seems to be backfiring on him. People are fed up with his adds. The more adds he runs, the worse he seems to be polling.
She finally got him on 2nd! And his corruption and his China money. She even got a lot more yard signs, even after they have stolen a lot of them.
Yep, she needs all the help she can get, but it is not a lost cause by any means! Toss up now. Thanks.

Dem Cunningham seems to be well outspending incumbent Tillis on social media in NC from my vantage point. Cunningham is hitting Tillis hard on Tillis support for and from Big pharma. Cunningham also has emotional ads targeted at women supporting more funding for education. Tillis ads are not memorable in terms of themes and messages.

Tillis is a poor candidate. Five years as a Senator he maintained a low profile in the state and cozied up to the Washington establishment. Now he is being challenged strongly and lacks a strong record of accomplishment. I get his weekly newsletter which are filled with statements such as “I wrote a strong letter to the Secretary of HHS”.

Of course we also have Burr as our other NC GOP Senator. He has gone completely invisible since the stock trading scandal earlier this year. NC is a swing state and the GOP lacks firepower. Meanwhile the Dems are well funded and fighting hard.

Thanks for the update. IMHO Trump is looking good, but even if the worst happens, if we keep control of the Senate, we can weather this, and keep the country - RATs won’t have another chance like this, with so many Republicans up for re-election in a Presidential year again, for 12 years.

It’s none stop political ads here.

I like the McSally ad showing her as an A 10 pilot

I expect McSally, Collins, Gardener and Tillis to lose. I hope James and Tuberville win, which leaves the Senate 51-49 GOP. Well, 50-50 if you include Murcowski. However, if Trump does win by a landslide it could be 55-45 GOP provided someone reads the riot act to Murcowski.

Remember 2018 when the Kavanaugh hearings brought down every Dem senate candidate in a toss-up race? Look for the ACB confirmation fight to be helpful to the GOP in a similar fashion.

Good for McSally.

Fighter Pilot ads are good.

Showing AZs that Kelly will take away their guns and their choice of docs, good Tri Care coverage, etc., would be good, too.
