The Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup by defeating the Dallas Stars 2-0 in Game 6 of the Final at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Monday.
The Lightning previously won the Cup in 2004.
"It's the best moment of our hockey lives," Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman said. "So many emotions. It's going to take months for it to sink in, but we're going to be champions forever, we're going to be on that Cup forever. … It's what you imagine all your life."

The one thing I would’ve watched but they screwed it up. Try again next season. Maybe. One knee from anyone and it’s all over.
My Stars were just outmatched in this series. Lightning are a very tough team. Kudos to them.
I don’t want to take anything away from their achievement, but it probably would have been that great deal better if the previous season and playoffs had been cancelled and by now we’d be doing training camp and exhibition games.
It was one and done. For the last 2 months it’s been nothing but great hockey. Quite the testament to the players for being able to produce a great playoff without fans to feed off of. As a long-time Islanders fan it was great to see how far they got . . . and another slap in the face to Pajama Boy John Tavares, who left for what he thought was greener pastures, only to see his former team do far better without him while seeing his new team struggle.
Next season is scheduled for December 1st.

Same here...and much longer for ALL sports & entertainment distractions.
Sports is waaaay downstream from survival and a nation’s survival.
Put an asterisk on it. This was not a real playoff. No crowds, no home crowds. Same for all the other sports. Just an exhibition season.
Tampa and Dallas was the NHL’s greatest nightmare, as if the ratings weren’t going to be bad enough anyway.
Two Southern USA teams playing a cold weather sport in what is traditionally the off season. About the worst matchup possible from a ratings perspective.
And nobody here in Dallas even cared.

The right team won for a lot of reasons. The folks in Tampa sure cared. The Bolts easily rival the Bucs and Rays in fan support here.
