I voted today (maybe)

I sent in my absentee ballot today from Spain. It arrived yesterday. Because it's official business there was no postmark but there was a date of 9/18/2020 on the address label, so if they sent it that day it would have taken 12 days to arrive here. Not bad.

The bad part is that I send mail to people in America and it has been taking ages to arrive ever since the lockdowns started. I've had to resend a couple because they never showed up and mail I sent to 2 FReepers in 2 different parts of the country in the first week of September hasn't arrived yet. So I'm not sure if the mail will arrive on time for the election or even at all.

I don't see this as some sort of nefarious plot to keep me from voting for Trump. I'm just pointing out that the post offices, probably worldwide, have been having major problems since lockdowns started and a bunch of absentee ballots added to the mix isn't going to make things any better.

I suppose you could blame the slow delivery on international mail but, as this article shows, the USPS is having internal problems also.

“whose prize money went to an alternate winner.”

Some lucky “random” postal employee or friend, thereof?

I’ve lost two important documents in the US Mail this year. One was an original car title. I delivered both to the post office myself.

USPS is not reliable now. I’ll vote in person.

Wife and I have our ballots sealed and will hand carry to county clerks office today. Don’t trust the USPS.

That's why I propose that anyone who wants to do so be able to vote by safe and secure FREEPMAIL! (As often as they want to, too.)
