Good move for Jeff Bezos to buy CNN. Buying influence in media will help him to fend off antitrust challenges to Amazon.
AT&T is in desperate straits. They have massive debts and are riddled with properties that earn tons of ‘woke’ credit but make zero money. DC Comics (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman) just had their second massive layoff because surprisingly their increasing wokeness has translated into decreasing sales. CNN is the same. Apparantly it’s finally bad enough that executives in the parent company are starting to think they have to stop patting themselves on the back about supporting wokeness and actually make SOME money before the company quite literally has to declare bankruptcy.

Gasbag is full of crap. There are no good journalists at CNN, the leader in Fake News.
They are complicit with every effort to gaslight, overturn and back the coup efforts against President Trump and the American people.
They were in on it every step of the way up to the present with the attempted election theft.

I think AT&T is doing OK, paying down their debt.
But, I can’t see, and never did see, what good CNN did for them in the Time-Warner acquisition.
Get rid of it... and if AT&T can significantly monetize it, even better!

I have owned ATT stock for a long long time. I have purchased more over the years only because it pays a 7% dividend. I hate that they own CNN. Selling it would unlock a lot of growth for ATT and rid itself of the cancer that is CNN.
So that I own it but I like the return.
AT&T should pretend to be trying to sell CNN to Trumpian interests. Then they will be able to name their own price in a sale to some lefty billionaire desperate to prevent a sale to a Trumpist.
First thing you should do to fire everyone and start over. You report, we’ll decide.
They COULD go back to what made them successful: Delivering news without horrible commentary. Their evening programs could be a balanced delivery of opinions without snark.
They would have to scrap almost everyone.
If I recall, Don Jr. was talking about getting a group of conservative millionaire investors to form a conservative news cable channel.
If CNN is ready-made and ripe for the plucking, this would be an ideal purchase for Don Jr. and his potential group.
Folks don't want streaming, digital and all that stuff for conservative news. They want to lie down on the sofa at night and immediately click on a conservative channel like they do with Fox, CNN and PMSNBC.
And the irony of CNN becoming a conservative channel is so delicious....

During the massive Million MAGA “Stop the Steal” March on Saturday, the crowd passed a gaggle of CNN cameras across Pennsylvania Avenue near the Trump International Hotel, and they yelled, “CNN SUCKS!” over and over.
bwahahahahahaha!
Also worth noting, that groups of police officers stood across all the cross street intersections as the massive Million MAGA “Stop the Steal” March passed by, and the Trump-supporting parade yelled, “BACK! THE! BLUE!” every time they saw a group of cops.
Many cops were pleased to hear that chant and smiled and waved, in spite of the high numbers of Democrat residents/voters in DC. My guess is that the minority of GOP/Trump voters in DC are mostly cops and military (but not all).
