LOOK UP ON DEC. 21: During the upcoming winter solstice, Jupiter and Saturn will line up to create what is known as the "Christmas Star" or "Star of Bethlehem" -- something not seen in nearly 800 years

In 2005, Camping predicted the Second Coming of Christ to May 21, 2011, whereupon the saved would be taken up to heaven in the rapture, and that “there would follow five months of fire, brimstone and plagues on Earth, with millions of people dying each day, culminating on October 21, 2011, with the final destruction of the world.”
Camping with his rapture predictions had a following of well over “100s” — Beginning in 1958, he served as president of Family Radio, a California-based radio station group that, at its peak, broadcast to more than 150 markets in the United States.
Once again you don’t know what you are talking about. Just because he went Cultish you assume all of the WFME staff and listeners went along 100%. Actually 98% did not. So. Stick to cut n paste other peoples materials and pretend you’re a theologian - with no followers no site no blog, except for you’re free site called Free Republic.
Firstly - I said That was Harold Camping and those who believe in the pre-Trib rapture - I didn't say or assume all or most or even some of the WFME staff and listeners
Secondly - could you share where you have your 98% number from?
You don’t know what you’re talking about. I do. I was out of the Reformed Church. Know a number of people personally on staff who resigned when he went crazy. He lost the following of the Reformed Church which was 98% of the listeners. And was in effect kicked out of / disassociated by the Reformed Church. To assume the radio station markets blindly followed is exactly the opposite of occurred. But that’s what happens when you don’t know what you are talking about / generalize with out the facts / and assume from 30,000 ft viewpoint.
I always thought that was “Steppin’”, well, about the same thing. Curious that Adam (Charles Napier) sang it two ways: hopeful first and then wistful at the end.
“...two will be sleeping...”
So true!
I find it amazing that MOST people do NOT know the correct ‘version’ of the ‘Christmas story’!
Why have we propagated LIES with the millions of manger scenes with the Magi there?
(I should talk; as I just put our three wise men out in the yard with the BABY Jesus in His swaddling clothes!)
At least he wasn't able to lead very many astray; unlike like your current pope.
I had the 88 book.
I did NOT believe it; because I ‘believe’ a DIFFERENT Book when it says that “NO man can know...”
I just wanted to see all of his reasons.
And it will be in Aquarius.
Dawning of the Age
Marking the start of the Pagan Saturnalia
Marking a Great Reset (if one is into astrology)
Since 1802 the Saturn and Jupiter conjunctions have been occurring in earth signs, with the final one occurring on May 28 of 2000 in Taurus. After the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius in 2020, there will continue to only be conjunctions between Jupiter and Saturn in tropical air signs until 2159.
Thus 2020 is at the end of a two-hundred-year era of Jupiter and Saturn uniting in earth signs. While the earth element signifies focus on material security and consolidation of resources that is resistant to change, the era of air will bring disruption to established orders and dramatic changes in collective ideas and the way we communicate. Vitally, not only will Jupiter and Saturn be uniting in Aquarius, they will also be forming a catalytic square aspect with Uranus in Taurus. At this pivotal moment in our journey, the lightning bolts of Jupiter and Uranus will not only bring down old societal structures but will also impel us to release old personal dreams and drama we have been attached to. There will be new challenges and unknown potential arising as we begin a new era of Jupiter and Saturn that we will need to make space for in our lives.

1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi[a] from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
3 When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. 5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
6 “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will shepherd my people Israel.’[b]”
7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”
9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.
13 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”
14 So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, 15 where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”[c]
16 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. 17 Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:
18 “A voice is heard in Ramah,
weeping and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children
and refusing to be comforted,
because they are no more.”[d]
Hermeneut Hero YOU!
Every year, I break out the Christmas questions.
It’s a hoot
So many biblically illiterate believers due to bad teaching, hokie traditions and textually inaccurate songs.
He was really something. Engineer by education. Not a minute of theology training and no theology school background. Just kinda went to his head.
You have to read Matthew and Luke side by side to get the full picture. Luke says that they took Jesus to Jerusalem for the purification ritual within 40 days of the birth according to the Law of Moses. After that, Mary and Joseph returned to their own city of Nazareth (Luke 2:39). Bible language is pretty specific. There’s a word for baby and a word for child. When Jesus was born he was described as a babe. When the Magi visited he was described as a child so he could not have been in Bethlehem and, as scripture notes, Mary and Joseph left Jerusalem and returned to Nazareth within 40 days of His birth. The reason Herod had all the male children beneath the age of 2 killed in Bethlehem was because he questioned the Magi about how old Jesus was and where He was born. The Bible never says the Magi went to Bethlehem. The Magi “went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.” That was Nazareth, ipso facto, the star of Nazareth.
NIV 1 Corinthians 4:6
Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written." Then you will not take pride in one man over against another.
except that this location was NOT mentioned in the Matthew account; just Jerusalem.
There was no reason for the Magi to go to Nazareth; for the place was apparently not mentioned during their visit to Jerusalem.
What Old Testament prophesy would cause them to go there?
Getting to Egypt would have taken the Holy Family BACK thru the area where the search for these two and unders were being killed.
I doubt I'd subject my family to even the REMOTE possibility that...
Post 33: No, they just had a calendar that ended on 12/21/2012. Then a next phase in the calendar start. No end of the world. That was Harold Camping and those who believe in the pre-Trib rapture making up stuff
Post #38 Harold Camping was no one-off cultist but firmly in the pre-Trib rapture error
Post #42 Camping with his rapture predictions had a following of well over “100s” — Beginning in 1958, he served as president of Family Radio, a California-based radio station group that, at its peak, broadcast to more than 150 markets in the United States.
I did not indicate that the rest of his group "went pre-trib rapture" -- do you read that in any posts.
I said clearly that Harold Camping himself was firmly in the pre-Tribulation rapture "camp"
And Camping was firmly opinionated about the pre-Tribulation rapture. I made no statement about the rest of his "church" or whatever.
The fact that Harold camping believed in that 19th century non-biblical pre-Tribulation rapture is separate from whatever the rest of the “reformed church” or “his listeners” believe or believed. I make and made no statements about those - my statement was about Camping alone (Sola campinga) following that error
