I was taught two spaces after a period (full stop for those in Europe) question mark or exclamation point, and one space after all other punctuation. In a Catholic school as well.

OK...fair enough.But you come from a country where they spell color and flavor wrong and where they can't even pronounce aluminum correctly. ;-)

But on a serious note when were you taught that way? I was taught 60 years ago.And as I said earlier the "rules" might have changed since then.But if they have I'm invoking the "old dog" rule.
