Am I supposed to notify somebody? I thought the next election I just identify as “independent”. Is there a process?

No, in TX there are no Independent primaries; so that is not an option here.

I did mine online,

And in my opinion if any Republican politician stays in the party after this, they want their position too much.

Depends on the state you live in.

In my state if you register independent you are automatically lumped in with the Democrat Party & they will send you a ballot to vote in their primary! This would not be a satisfactory option for me.

There may be a new Patriot party. I could go Libertarian or Constitution Party. The Patriot who was shot at capital was a Libertarian!
