Don't normally post about earthquakes but, just had a nice one.

I was laughing my butt off.

Kind of gentle roll 4-5 seconds

And now, back to our regular programming

Felt it in San Francisco. Not strong enough to get me off the couch, though. Pretty much “Hey, an earthquake! But you gotta do better than that to get me heading for a doorway.”

Yep, I’m at Kaiser, Santa Clara, 3rd floor. If felt like a big jolt and then rocking back and forth for about 30 secs. It got my attention....

Being in a Kaiser is more dangerous than any stinkin’ quake. :)

Well, you didn’t need to swim back to the shore afterwards, so you made it that time. ;D

There was a 4.2 a couple of hours ago near Owens Lake. Sometimes I’ve noticed when you get simultaneous 4 magnitude quakes spread out it’s portends something bigger.

There was a 4.5 earthquake I will never forget.
During the mid 1980’s, I lived in Berkeley, California.
I don’t recall the season, but at some point, I felt a tremor. I lived alone in a small apartment.
When the soft rumbling started, I decided to lay down on my bed facing the front door, ready to wait the quake out.

At some point, the rumbling was sustained. As I gazed at my front door, I swear to you, the door and the surrounding threshold seemed to turn into a soft jelly. The entire door area became a gently shimmering wave. Then forty or fifty seconds later, the shimmering just ....stopped! All became still and frozen again, just as it always appeared to me. What happened?

I am thinking the tremor allowed the door to briefly break down into it’s molecular structure. Do not forget, we, all of us are the results of ever moving, ever colliding molecules and atoms.
I am no scientist, but that event was as thrilling as it was unforgettable.

I felt in near the hospital in Santa Cruz. My garage shook and water bottles bounced around.

The West coast of the United States appears to have a bit of activity spreading out from the Juan De Fuca fracture zone, spreading across the plate, dropping off near M4.0 range activity currently.

The frequency increase (number of quakes) as well as expected magnitude increase appears to be currently underway.

Expecting next level up, going up to M5.0 range or very close to it, along the shores of NW California. Additionally upper M4.0 range or larger due in TWO spots in Southern California, Lompoc and San Diego (between the two is LA and the oil pumping operations currently moving as shown in this video).
