A new study shows some COVID-19 patients end up with damage to their brains, shedding new light on how the virus impacts the human body.
"I think it is critically important that we study this population properly," said Dr. Avi Nath, the lead researcher on this study and clinical director of the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. "We hope these results will help doctors understand the full spectrum of problems patients may suffer so that we can come up with better treatments."
Some COVID-19 patients report non-respiratory symptoms after contracting the virus, including headaches, delirium and mental fog.
Nath and his team at the National Institutes of Health used special, high-powered brain scans to look at the brains of people who died after contracting COVID-19. This was the first study of its kind in the country, published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

No, my friend was an active senior. She stayed home from March till this year when she fell and went to the hospital. She contracted covid, was in ICU in a coma on a vent. EEG showed brain damage days before she died. This is real. We buried he her last week.
So do some flu patients.
Wonder if this extends to folks who receive the vaccine. Is the virus itself causing the brain damage, or are the symptoms causing it? So vaccine recipients would be at risk as well? I can't tell.
Everything has an ulterior motive now. There's no straight talk anymore.
Do you suppose the fall and/or the vent might have had something to do with it?
Soon there will be the coterie of people advising imperfect remedies for a disease they don’t think exists and espousing why vaccines are unimportant. This is a very real long haul symptom that we see in a lot of the elderly long term care population who had Covid
So who experiences this problem? Elderly? Frail?

No, she went to hospital to be evaluated for a hip injury from the fall, she was fine mentally. Came home initially, but went back and was diagnosed with Covid and they kept her, family never saw her again alive.
Nah, they are just democrats that get covid. The brain damage was already present.
She also had blood in her lungs from Covid damage. It really ravaged her.
“ headaches, delirium and mental fog.” Had all of that and then some. Started coming down with it 23 days ago. Had to use a walker for a couple days just to go to the bathroom I was so unsteady. The only underlying condition I have is being overweight, otherwise pretty health for 67. Still have a cough, a bit weak and tire easily. The strange thing is I had the exact same illness 6 years ago and just thought it was a bad case of the flu.
According to the CDC all deaths are now from Covid19. Every ailment you can possibly think of will be derived from Fauci funded china virus.
You may be on to something, there.

The symptoms of this virus include every single physical ailment a human being can suffer.
It is not the same for each sufferer.
Yet you can have it but not know it.
And now you get brain damage from it.
This truly is an amazing virus.
Did they control for participants in the study being Democrats with pre-existing brain damage?
I’m a long hauler from COVID.
Not elderly, no pre-existing conditions, work a high demand, busy job managing a historic high rise. I fixed my own roof, built furniture by hand, painted my house, and kept a pristine home. Loved to cook and bake big meals on Sundays with the kids.
Hospitalized twice; cracked glass lungs. Had serious brain fog for months, but it is getting better. Had issues with sleeping and keeping food down; also getting better. Lack of strength and stamina have not improved. Can’t do half of what I used to.
Told my job to find my replacement; they haven’t yet, so I’m hanging in there for now.
Been given an 80% chance of surviving the next 4 years.
For the overwhelming majority who get it, God bless that it is not a big deal. For the other folks, people like me, it leaves a wide path of damage in its wake.
