Video: Team of pickups work together to haul big rig up an icy hill, sled-dog style

Six pickup trucks work together to pull a semi truck up an icy, snowy hill in this video.

It happened in Saline County, Arkansas this past week near Interstate 30 and Alcoa Road.

According to the Facebook post by Stephanie Cole, initially three pickup trucks chained themselves to the big rig, but it wasn’t enough power, so a fourth, fifth, and sixth joined in to help, sled dog team style.

In the clip, several of the pickups can be seen slipping and sliding, but the team eventually gets it done, and people can be heard cheering in the background as the semi truck regains its footing.

Amazing what Trump voters can do together.

And I guaran-damn-tee you there ain’t no Biden voters in that bunch. They would’ve wanted the government to do it (six hours later). Or at least do an environmental impact study before beginning, which, by then would be spring and no need to pull the big truck up the hill.

Reminds me of what happens on Ice Road Truckers. I don’t think that show will ever come back.

You’re exactly correct. Liberals would cry and complain then force the driver to shut the engine down and wait.

One of my sons is a trucker. I sent this to him.

How many Priuses would it take to do that?

PERHAPS A DOZEN OF THE 4WD VERSION?

And it would require individual rigging, so as not to overload the chassis on any single vehicle.

And no way would I want my wife doing this with her Prius!!!

I like it and want to keep it in good condition for many years.

Back in the ninties there was a big snowstorm, Boston area. No side street plowing.

All the men on one street wired their snowblowers together and cleared their street.

Cool.

First of all did the semi have it’s chains on?

From experience, pickups are pretty worthless towing on snowy roads if there is no load in the bed over the rear tires. A big load of snow will work for that criteria though.

That is why my 4WD truck has 180 lbs of sand along with my 5th wheel hitch and a tool box in the bed. *

So far haven’t been stuck enough to open one of the bags of sand for traction. Did have to put it in 4 WD low going up the driveway.

* And yes, I have towed my 5th wheel in the snow. Did not want to have that adventure, but it was a very necessary situation to get out of where I was. I do have chains for all four truck tires and for the front 5th wheel tires.

Imagine the stress on the truck immediately hooked up between Semi and 5 others.

The trucks look like chevys or GMCs. I did see one Dodge on the team.
