The buyer at the sale suspected if might be valuable, and paid the asking price without comment. You’ve got to keep a poker face at a sale or an auction, and never reveal any knowledge you might have.
The guys who buffed out the “Made in China” stamp on the bottom obviously did an outstanding job.
