A Virginia attorney says police destroyed her unlocked front door and ransacked her house based on a bogus search warrant, all as an act of retaliation...

Three days prior to the raid, Reynolds' stepson was acquitted of murder charges. Reynolds represented her stepson in the case. The lawsuit says the acquittal "sparked outrage in the Roanoke law enforcement community."

ATF involved. She better thank her lucky stars they didn’t stomp on any kittens, shoot their dogs, and plant M16 auto-sears on her property. (YES, ATF has done this in the past).

I will never understand why a Judge after Learning he was LIED to in an effort to Secure a Fraudulent Search Warrant which is then used to conduct a FELONY HOME INVASION and AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, doesn’t immediately issue a summons for EVERY PERSON involved in the FELONY to appear before his Court, find them in Contempt and Sanction every one of them $100,000 and 90 days in Jail.

This is absolutely within the Judges Authority and since they don’t exercise their Authority over Wrongdoing, the Judge belongs in PRISON ALSO!!

25 years ago I was at work, my wife was at home recovering from foot surgery with our wiener dogs. She noticed some type of commotion outside and then there was beating on the front door. She hobbled down the spiral staircase in her walking cast as quickly as she could. She made it to the front door just after the King County Swat Team started using their battering ram actually knocking the entire jam loose. When she opened the door they burst through knocking her down and as she got up one of them held her against the wall with a gun pointed at her head. They never showed her any type of paperwork or announced who they were.

She told the brute that was holding her against the wall that she was concerned about our dogs. He said that if they seemed like a threat they would be killed. They were going nuts, but fortunately they were contained behind a 2 foot high plywood barrier.

The police went all around the house tearing everything up... they didn't find who or whatever they were looking for and left with no explanation. They just told my wife to “Have a nice day.” and that they house was very clean. Of course they tracked mud, pitch and fir needles all over our new carpet and left the contents of drawers and shelves heaped on the floor. It was incredible. I never was able to get a credible explanation or any type of apology from anyone. My wife still has a strong and justified fear of the police and government 25 years later.

A little torn on this story. Glad to see that a protector of a murderous criminal gets some karma but the Gestapo-like use of a government agency is worrisome for a nation heading towards totalitarian rule.

I forgot to mention, they were all dressed in black SWAT gear and looked like some sort of quasi-military group and not the police as you normally think of them.

Where does the article state that the step son had a warrant for another murder?

I agree...and I take her side with a grain of salt because of the above. But I guess if Reason is into bashing cops, then they’ll run the story.

These are the fruits of the Reagan-era "War on Crime" - another war like the "War on Poverty", the "War on Terror", and the "War on Drugs" which the Federal Government didn't mind losing because of the expanded state power and oppressive tools they gained in the process.

Violation of ones privacy pursuant to a bogus ( fraudulent) search warrant is a Federal Civil Rights case.

Who ever signed the affidavit in support of the warrant AND the Police Department are now going to be paying out A LOT!

YOur tax dollars folks!

Huge civil rights trial by jury.

Triple damages.

No, I probably should have gotten an attorney, but it was a hectic time in my career. I had recently been promoted to a position as a Hazmat Officer in a different jurisdiction and did not want to rock the boat. My team and I actually accompanied the police to drug lab take downs. I told the story many times over the years to the police that I worked with and I always got complete agreement that the King County Swat Team were a bunch of reckless buffoons. So I did get a little revenge in that way. The King County guys always looked down their noses at those of us working in Pierce County so this did allow a good example of their complete incompence. It was not just a couple of guys that showed up at our house, there were dozens that romped through. So it was "planned" by those in charge not just a couple of cowboys. It still makes me mad... bunch of idiots.

“...her son who just beat a murder rap has a warrant out for his arrest on another murder.”

Wrong. It wasn’t her stepson they were after but the stepson’s friend...

“...according to a search warrant issued at 6 p.m. that evening, an ATF agent had called a Roanoke police officer to tell him that a confidential informant had seen Clements hanging out with Reynolds’ stepson at her house several times over the past few days.

You do understand *everyone* has a right to defend themselves in court, right?

And you also should remember, especially in light of the behavior of our *ahem* esteemed law-enforcement agencies, such as the FBI, that sometimes these agencies lie and fabricate evidence for political reasons.

If the facts fit the story I am appalled....but....we are talking about an attorney....their side of a story doesn’t always fit the facts!!!!

About two hours later, a mix of local police and federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) agents arrived, cordoned off the street, and brought in a SWAT team and armored vehicle.

While America’s left and media have been running a decades long hate campaign against LOCAL police, you will notice there’s never a peep about the dozens of FEDERAL law enforcement agencies. No reporting, no outrage, no doxxing, no media leaks, no demands for defunding - nothing
