Direct Scheduling for Mass Vaccination Sites Begins Saturday, May 1

ANNAPOLIS, MD—With consistent improvements in key statewide health metrics and a fast pace of vaccinations, Governor Larry Hogan today lifted the outdoor mask mandate in Maryland and all restrictions for outdoor dining. The governor also announced that the state has entered a new phase of its vaccination campaign, moving to direct scheduling at mass vaccination sites and continuing to expand points of distribution.

“As our vaccinations continue to expand and our health metrics continue to improve, we expect to be able to take additional actions in the weeks ahead and to return to a sense of normalcy,” said Governor Hogan. “However, I want to stress once again that the fastest way to put this pandemic behind us once and for all is for every single eligible Marylander to get vaccinated as soon as possible.”

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:

OUTDOOR MASK MANDATE. Masks and face coverings are no longer required outdoors in the State of Maryland. Lifting the outdoor masking order is in line with new CDC guidance.

Face coverings are still required for all Marylanders at all large ticketed venues as well as indoors at all public and private businesses and when using public transportation. Marylanders who are not yet vaccinated are strongly encouraged to continue wearing masks, especially when physical distancing is not possible.

Read the updated executive order.

EFFECTIVE SATURDAY, MAY 1:

OUTDOOR DINING. Standing service may resume outdoors at bars and restaurants and all restrictions related to outdoor dining capacity and distancing will be lifted. Seated service and physical distancing requirements will remain in place indoors at bars and restaurants.

I never wear a mask outdoors.

Gosh, I didn’t even know it was a mandate!

Shows how much I care what the rules are. Yet, even in liberal-land, I never got accosted.

Were we supposed to be wearing masks outdoors in Maryland? That’s news to most of us. Lockdown Larry really stays on top of things.

Really...
How generous of the Gov. of Maryland...

Was shopping at a Lowe's in LaVale, MD today and noticed many customers with NO mask on...
I am hearing impaired and people speaking to me with a mask, makes it difficult to understand what they are saying...so many times I ask them to remove the mask, so I can understand them...if they don't, I just walk away...will shop somewhere else...smh

This entire mask business is DEMOCRAT LEAD AND CONTROLLED...MAKES ME ILL...AND VERY TIRED OF THE B.S AND FAIRY TALES....

My own town in Maryland is basically a mask-o-rama. The Wal-Mart even has a dezhurnaya at the entrance, formerly a greeter, I suppose, who will make sure you have a mask on.

Of course central MD is liberal-land.

Western MD is more like central PA (heck 220 even goes past both those big towns).

We’ve been in PA lately every month dealing with my late MIL’s affairs and while people aren’t as insane about masks, they still wear them at the biggest entertainment venue in town, WM.

Are you actually living in western MD or are you from WV or PA?

I’m a Buckeye in my heart !!!

Born in PA..returned there in retirement...but recently moved to Maryland to a beautiful area. We still keep our close contacts in PA...just learning how to shop and enjoy this area...but hate the politics of the State...

Recently learned how very beautiful I 68, is..so looking forward to all four Seasons traveling on that highway...

Have a wonderful week end...

Cumberland was my 2nd home. Actually my grandma came from there (LaVale) and ironically, her doctor son ended up moving there for the majority of his life and is still there today on their farm at the Mason-Dixon Line. We were up there all the time; my favorite cousins.
