The only reason no fuss was raised was the woman was black..... And not a cop. If by sheer luck, a cop had been driving by and intervened, people would calling for his head, burning, looting and marching in the streets.

I was sure that you were joking, but it’s true, he actually was on his way to Anger Management Class!
Now, if she had no other choice but to call 911, she would have been dead or maimed by the time the cops got there, presuming they would not try to wait till 20 minutes of intense action had passed first.
I cannot really blame cops that do that. They too want to live another day.
