It was 1969. Kate invited me to join her for a gathering at the home of her friend, Lila Karp. They called the assemblage a “consciousness-raising-group,” a typical communist exercise, something practiced in Maoist China. We gathered at a large table as the chairperson opened the meeting with a back-and-forth recitation, like a Litany, a type of prayer done in Catholic Church. But now it was Marxism, the Church of the Left, mimicking religious practice:
“Why are we here today?” she asked.
“To make revolution,” they answered.
“What kind of revolution?” she replied.
“The Cultural Revolution,” they chanted.
“And how do we make Cultural Revolution?” she demanded.
“By destroying the American family!” they answered.
“How do we destroy the family?” she came back.
“By destroying the American Patriarch,” they cried exuberantly.
“And how do we destroy the American Patriarch?” she replied.
“By taking away his power!”
“How do we do that?”
“By destroying monogamy!” they shouted.
“How can we destroy monogamy?”
Their answer left me dumbstruck, breathless, disbelieving my ears. Was I on planet earth? Who were these people?
“By promoting promiscuity, eroticism, prostitution and homosexuality!” they resounded.

My sister started getting a Communist paper in 1970. I asked her about it but she was going off to a full ride scholarship at Berkley. I used to go up and see her and her husband a Prof at Berkley. I heard all the dinner party talk with other Professors. I heard this 40 years ago...and they pulled it off. Trump understands all this, and that is why they want to destroy him.
I had a friend married to a professional woman. They had two children. Then, his wife started counselling with an an avowed feminist councilor who, he proved, hated men. The councilor got his wife to divorce him. He got a woman lawyer and sued for support, got the children and got something from the councilor as well because he managed to prove she purposely destroyed the marriage. (Don’t recall the details. But he had juicy evidence his wife had left lying around.)
It’s the only case I’m personally aware of where an avowed, vocal feminist got her comeuppance and the man ended up happily divorced, supported by his ex and raising their children. Normally, it’s the man living in someone’s back yard in a camper. (That guy is working for me now. And, if it weren’t for a Christian couple and the camper, he’d be on the street but still working to support the kids.)

Great idea to post it as a thread. It is bone chilling. It is always in the back of my mind. And to think that they didn’t even mention abortion which came just 4yrs later!

several years ago I did an inspection at a mobile home where a middle age woman had committed suicide.
The entire home was a shrine to women's liberation.
It should be posted everytime someone says "Why aren't feminists objecting to...."
On another note, Helen Reddy's song "I Am Woman" has always made me want to vomit.

Isn’t it sexist to say, “You’ve come a long way, baby”? Maybe that’s why we don’t hear that anymore. As soon as that became popular, babies started being killed off.
