As Joe Biden and the Left continue to go after the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding American citizens, we don't have to go very far back in the history books to see an example that throws all their anti-gun arguments out the window. In 1982, a town in Georgia introduced a law requiring all residents to own a gun.

I lived in Ga for a few years. Some punk thought it would be a good idea to break into a 90 year old widow’s house at night through the window and she unloaded on him. Not sure if he died but word got around and she was pretty much untouchable from then on.
Well, that’s nice about the 80’s, but what happened in the 30-40 years since?
I’m pretty sure Kennesaw’s crime rate is still on the low side.
Beyond that, way to many Leftists from up North and the West Coast have moved in.

The left isn’t interested in facts....those who have pushed the anti gun narrative know the truth. What they are after is control. Ultimate control comes when the citizens are disarmed.
You been to Kennesaw lately?
It’s overrun by Holders people, left-wing “college students”, and a few remaining trailer park holdovers.
I notice they don”t mention the crime rate.
Yep. Kennesaw has devolved to pretty much a liberal cesspool. Much like the rest of Cobb County. They had a law that everyone own a gun and the next town, Acworth had a law that everyone must have a rake in their garage. If you had only one rake and were out raking essentially you’d be breaking g the law.
Interesting, but doesn’t really seem Constitutional.
A single burglar can be a one-man crime wave.
A single burglar can be a one-man crime wave.’’’
A 1/2 dozen liberal DAs can be a disaster for a state and unlivable conditions for the citizens.
Ol Bill Shakes a speer was right?
It should be noted that of the five towns in the US that require gun ownership, *none* of them have any penalties for those that don’t.
However, I am hoping to see some *counties* in the future requiring gun ownership, under the auspices of the Sheriff. The way this works is that those counties must have a “posse” regulation, that permits the Sheriff to form a volunteer civilian posse when needed, for emergency support, on top of his uniformed deputies’ posse.
This would be done in response to the federal or state government trying to implement some form of gun control.
The Sheriff would then announce a state of emergency, it which all *armed* civilians are part of the posse, so cannot be forced to disarm.
Again, no penalties for much of anything, unless you were a federal or state actor trying to disarm them.
:”what are you in prison for”
“I don’t own a gun”
Well! Jail is the perfect “safe space” for rats!
I was just chatting with a friend in SF. His girlfriends’ well-secured garage storage closet just was forced open, bicycle stolen. 100% of his friends have been burglarized for something.
You k ow I was kidding, right? I just thought it funny, and a good idea, that a state would require everyone by law to own a gun, but my mind went to someone being arrested for not owning a gun . Usually people get arrested for owning a gun whe. They aren’t supposed to, not for not owning a gun lol (not saying that folks would get arrested for not owning one, I was just thinking with a Babylon bee kind of mind, that’s all)
Things sure were different, even in Colorado and California. In 1980 I was living in Rangely Colorado working on a rig, we were pulled over by the local Sheriff one day for not having our rifles loaded and in the gun rack ready to grab if necessary, they were unloaded and behind the seat. He didn’t like cleaning up the remains of stupid, that get attacked and killed by the wildlife.
