Sure— have a Honda 2KW generator in the vehicle with 10 gallons of gas/ run the engine and exhaust the fumes outside- use an inverver/convert feature of the generator to charge the batteries as the car runs. This is what it would take. Taking time to charge at a “station” would prevent 1K miles.

I’m all for electric cars, I just don’t want to subsidize them. Let them stand on their own two feet. It’s better for everyone.

I’ve spent $1500 on gas for my new Super Crew F-150 for the past year. That is driving about 15,000 miles.

I can drive 500+ miles without refueling and fill up in about 10 minutes at about 500,000 different locations across the US.

Today. If everyone went electric then the gas taxes must recouped. Also, the grids cannot handle all the cars on electricity, so there is also that cost increase.

Gasoline has competition. Electric has very few suppliers and distributors, so I would not expect electricity to remain cost competitive with gas.

Why can you just have swap batteries? Go to thee battery station they swap out your old ones in need of charge with pre charged in 10 Minutes? The station then recharge the ones left behind.repeat.

My friend's father invested in a new electric car that he says "Detroit" is trying to suppress. It's a small car that can range up to 150 miles from home and return, and recharge in five minutes due to its very unique battery system. Isn't it a crime how new energy saving systems are being shot down? -L.A., Westland, WI

If all that you say about the car is true, then think of this: assume the car's motor is rated at 40 horse power -remember, you said a small car. Assume it is run at 50 mph for the full range of the car (300 miles.) In six hours of driving, the car uses up 11,040 watt hours of energy. To replace their energy in five minutes would require an AC outlet at your home that can deliver about 92 ampere hours or approximately 1100 amperes for 5 minutes. Just imagine the size of your house wiring. Remember, when charging a battery, you must replace very kilowatt hour of energy that was used. Also, I did not get into the matter of efficiency and heat in the battery system. A very high current charge produces excessive heat -the battery may even glow! That's not too good for the battery. Look again into the facts, you may have your information jumbled.

If one purely looks at the science then it can easily be shown that electric cars with current technology make absolutely no sense at all. They use more energy, And they pollute more. Not only do they still produce smog, but they produce chemical pollution as well. And the mines that the Lithium is stripped from. hauling around all that battery weight. On and on they are very bad. But if the powers to be want to control your travel then it will be much easier to do so.

Do you have any idea how much that would cost and how impossible it would be to insulate to prevent power losses Ive.seen some bad ideas on FR but congratulations this it probably in the top 20%.

The cost would be less than solar panels and their long distance copper wiring. Maybe roads could have walkable solar roof coverings added, with e-bike lanes.

I dunno, but I can go over 700 miles on a tank with my F-150.
