@RepMTG

Just moments ago I introduced legislation to ELIMINATE the ATF (H.R. 3960).

The ATF's unconstitutional war on gun owners and our Second Amendment rights must end.

Meh. Republicans propose all sorts of great-sounding legislation when they are in the minority and know there is no danger of any of it becoming law.

Ping me when they propose something like this when they are in the majority.

The ATF's unconstitutional war on gun owners and our Second Amendment rights must end.

Performative nonsense.

Classic politician behavior. Type up a press release attacking the organization tasked with enforcing the laws Congress passed instead of doing the hard work of getting those laws changed.

She’s a quick study.

Maybe just defund it, instead.

The only things the ATF should be are three aisles at Wal Mart.

I second that motion. The ATF should be involved with two things and two things only. Investigating arson and controlling explosives and investigating their illegal use. Not Fire arms and small arms ammunition.

That’s when the RINOs run to the TV cameras because they’re concerned about dangerous, extreme, divisive legislation.

“the organization tasked with enforcing the laws Congress passed”

US Constitution reads “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.”

De-funding and dismantling a Goobermint organization tasked with enforcing unconstitutional laws seems like a great idea to me.

Start there.

We've needed to fix up the house for years now.   My wife has decided we'll use Taylor Construction.   It's a matter of trust.

Here’s the reply I got from Tommy Tuberville regarding Chipman for ATF Director. Tommy’s pretty good. Richard Shelby’s response was completely wishy washy. He did not commit to voting against the nomination.

June 17, 2021

Dear Mr. ,

Thank you for contacting me regarding the nomination of David Chipman to be Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). I appreciate that you took the time to weigh in on such an important issue.

As you may already know, ATF is the federal agency primarily responsible for the regulation of firearms and ammunition. ATF is also responsible for the investigation of federal crimes involving destructive devices (bombs), explosives, and arson. Thus, as the head of ATF, the Director will provide federal leadership with regard to enforcing laws and regulations related to firearms, explosives, arson, and alcohol and tobacco trafficking.

The nomination of Mr. Chipman is a troubling move toward the politicization of an agency dedicated to keeping our nation safe. A former ATF agent, Mr. Chipman currently works as a lobbyist at an anti-gun organization and has been a long supporter of gun control measures. This nomination points to an undeniable targeting of our Second Amendment rights and jeopardizes the constitutional protections that this Amendment provides.

It is for these reasons that I plan to vote against confirming Mr. Chipman to this position. Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me about this nomination. If I can be of any further assistance to you, please do not hesitate to let me know.

I’d like to invite you to connect with me on Facebook , Instagram , and Twitter . You can also find more information by visiting my website at www.tuberville.senate.gov .

Sincerely,

Tommy Tuberville
United States Senator

“Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms”.
It should be a vending machine, not a federal agency.

Sure. Get those laws declared unconstitutional and you’ll have plenty of support for dismantling the law enforcement agency.

yes yes YES!

transfer the workers to jobs that are LEGAL/constitutional
such as (for starters) building our defense wall
(and there are many additional projects they can continue their public service and complete their pensions)

Abolishing the unconstitutional laws is more real. In book form, the Federal Register stands as tall as the average man and well over 70,000 pages. The Constitution is four pages.

I’m all for it. They should also be branded with the word “thug” right on their forehead so they can never get a job again for the rest of their (hopefully) short and brutal lives.
