Apparently the British aren't satisfied with a technique many special forces around the world use, HALO -High Altitude Low Opening, they've moved on to HANO -High Altitude No Opening. Not sure if even Farmers has seen this.

That’s nothin’. In the rotary wing Navy we did our water rescue jumps from 10 feet @ 10 kts. Called it going out to practice our 10/10s. of course we were wearing full survival gear... 😉

I guess I should have read the article: “The parachutist was conscious but stunned with complaints of pain but no visible serious injuries.”
Maybe those ARE red socks??? Although some cuts on your legs can still bleed a bit and not be considered serious I suppose. Still - ouch!
