If you look closely at the photos, near the top of the side of the building, it looks like they ran some metal conduit for electrical external to the bricks to power a couple of light fixtures they probably used to keep the center of the mural lit 24/7. Hitting the metal conduit might have set off a chain reaction.

All valid points from Exodus. I wonder, however, if God actually sent a lightning bolt ⚡️ to blow it up, since there are countless other statues and graven images throughout the world. It may have just been a totally random bolt, out of the blue. Since there was a yellow police line around it, maybe they think someone blew it up. Either way, it’s poetic justice, and I couldn’t care less. 👍
The before pic is a close up and does not show the side borders...as the after pic is taken a distance away and sets forth the 'unseen' side borders.
Also, after 367 days, this Dem city would have its share of 'taggers' to enrich any mural.

At least it mentioned the armed home invasion. I hadn’t even known about that til finding that article. Very few other articles or reports seemed to have mentioned it. The standard leftwing media certainly left it out, entirely. At least from what I heard and read.
