I remember visiting an event (not campaign) by GWB. The crowd was huge, line for the security like a mile long. And GWB was not that popular or charismatic.
I even remember huge crowd drawn by WP Dan Quayle when campaigning.
Trump draws even larger crowds.
What I mean, US presidents were generally able to draw a crowd, just for being a president.
Biden lack or crowds is actually quite puzzling to me.
Not that I would bother, but I would expect some people to show up.

Its no mystery. Half the country hates Trump and Biden was perceived as the candidate most likely to defeat Trump. Nobody particularly likes him except that he got rid of Trump.

I don’t know about this particular event. But in the past Biden’s handlers have said that they deliberately keep the number of attendees low because of Covid.

That might be true. Or it just might be an excuse.

But many actual Biden voters are still afraid to leave home, at least until their certified haz-mat suit arrives from Amazon. A gathering of terrified people who don't plan on ever going outside again is a contradiction in terms.

A real actual Biden voter probably plans to be buried wearing a mask, in order to avoid catching covid from the worms.

People aren’t coming to see SloJo not even Rats because they’re afraid of COVID-19. Yes I know people go see Trump. But who’s likely to go see SloJoe - Rats and who’s likely to believe uncritically about the pandemic - Rats.
