The $715-billion infrastructure bill that passed the U.S. House of Representatives earlier this month includes a $2,400,000 earmark for that is called the “Riverside Drive Pedestrian Mall” in New York, New York.
The money was request by Rep. Jerrold Nadler in whose Manhattan-based district the money would be spent.
Section 107 of the bill is entitled “Member Designated Project Authorizations.” It says: “The amount listed for each member designated project in the table…shall be available…for fiscal year 2022 to carry out each project.” The 1052nd project listed in this section of the bill is called the “Riverside Drive Pedestrian Mall.” […]
“The federal funding for this project would: reconstruct and repair hexblock paving, install Belgian block tree pits, catch basins and drainage structures; install new benches, pipe rail fencing, curb cuts, lighting; and reconstruct lawn panels,” Nadler said. …

Show of hands from those FReepers that are shocked that there is PORK in a federal spending bill.;-)
We just had a local $1 million dollar infrastructure project...what a waste....new sidewalks and street lights....neither of which was needed.
Nadler is a diddler. He must have relatives in the “construction bidness”.
$2.4 million in NY?
So the mafia takes their 10-percent cut, and the various middle-folks take their cut. So you end up with a million dollars of work done by NY City labor. That’s what? A 300 foot concrete pad and maybe two lamp-posts, with a sixteen foot wide sign designating it as a Cuomo/Nadler project?
Exactly.
Nadler is a lewzer.
It’d be nice if a NY’er Freerepublic guy would go to this ‘pedestrian mall’ in 12 months...take pictures while measuring the concrete and report back what $2.4 million will buy.
I went on google earth to look. Hard to tell what is the “pedestrian mall”. The paper says 97th to 104th street. So 7 streets for $2.4 mill. They added a sidewalk and blinking crosswalk signs along about 3 blocks near the school near us. Maybe some new drainages to get past driveways. That was just a bit over $1 million! Not sure why the feds need to pay for this in NYC.
The man is more numb than a post and incontinent, its the only way as a crook he can stay in office.
This isn’t news. “Conservative” news outlets, including Faux have been running with this stuff for decades. The real news, and the real reporting would be tracing some of the tax dollars for the project into Nadler’s fat pockets. That’s where reporters & news outlets won’t go.
Yep. That’s what happened with the 0bammy’s trillion dollar bill. Out of the millions given to St. Louis, the only thing that ever came out of it was a bunch of $100k highway signs.... “coming soon to your neighborhood. Brought to you by the Obama Roads and Bridges Reinvestment Act.”
Government really sucks.
Sounds like a place where 'teens' can go hunting shopping
LOL at your 9. The full video showed the reaction of the guy behind the chart when he caught a whiff of the load in Nadler’s pants.
