They will and do. I can almost guarantee on Sept 11, they will fly their flag over the embassy.

On another thread someone in the know remarked that the Taliban is not an army in the Western sense. It’s more like a group of loosely affiliated militias. And since there is no central command structure, the worst can and probably will happen. Beheadings, rapes, etc. (as you noted).
I just wonder how the press will smooth that all over. Because remember, “Islam is peace”.
The Taliban smell blood and Victory—they will attack and take a terrible revenge on the population—It will be Rape and Plunder like the Goths who took Rome—or the Soviets who took Berlin. This is not resemble Saigon—but Nanking when the Japanese captured that Chinese Capital. I hope wiser heads realize that 3,000, 5,000 or even 10,000 US troops will not put off the horror. I think of our female soldiers and there fate if captured by the Taliban. What can stop them? Who has the will to stop them?
