People with a PhD are the most hesitant when it comes to getting the Covid-19 vaccine, according to a paper by researchers from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh.
Researchers surveyed just over five million US adults in an online survey, with 10,000 reporting that they were educated to PhD level.
The report showed a surprising U-shaped correlation between willingness to get a Covid vaccine and education level - with the highest hesitancy among those least and most educated.
Of those surveyed, 20.8 per cent with a high school education were reluctant to get the shot, and 23.9 per cent with a PhD were against it.
But the least skeptical of the shot had a Master's degree - with only 8.3 per cent of that group being vaccine hesitant.
The researchers did not offer an explanation as to why so many people with PhDs were vaccine hesitant, and the paper noted that 'further investigation into hesitancy among those with a PhD is warranted'.
The report said: 'To our knowledge, no other study has evaluated education with this level of granularity, which was possible due to our unusually large sample (of over 10,000 participants with PhDs).'

Because the PhDs looked up the papers about what happened during the animal trials...
I’m a HS graduate and don’t need anyone to tell me not to accept an experimental shot. When the shot companies are liable, maybe.
Making a personal risk assessment, that’s all. As opposed to sheer ignorance and boundless paranoia.
Though to the outsider, the two extremes are indistinguishable.
Imho the shown percentages are incorrectly low
Why would they risk putting ‘spikes’ in their brains from someone who lies about its effects?
That may be because you haven’t been through the college courses that tend to take common sense and critical thinking out of students.
“living in a rural county with higher Trump 2020 support”
What does Trump have to do with not getting the Vax? He’s the one who made it possible. Makes no sense.
And I think Trump made a huge mistake in listening to Fauci ,and promoting these experimental “treatments” especially waiving liabilities.
I give Trump credit for much but his appointments are disappointments; methinks he relied entirely too much on Ivanka’s advice.
If Trump was still President the “jab” would still be a bad policy.

I think you’re probably right. My sister, the medical expert, is all on board with the shots - yet, she has read nothing and refuses to even consider that there could be valid concerns. She will accept whatever the medical authority figures tell her.
Sometimes the decision to vaccinate has literally nothing to do with health or the pros/cons of the vaccine or its health benefits and risks.
My 18 year old got the vaccine SOLELY in order to attend college. That’s it.
So access comes into the decision making here. Perhaps those with a masters degree (the least hesitant) are also those who want to travel internationally or eat in a restaurant in a big city more that other educational levels, and do so easily with as little hassle as possible? But I’d think a PhD would want to travel easily too.
It’s a fascinating study though.
A worrisome other study I read—the IQ of children fell dramatically when measured before and after covid. We’ve got to get these kids out of isolation and out of these stupid masks. Immediately, and worldwide.
So I am assuming your sister took both jabs?
You might want to translate the following thread for her. Post # 7 has good video about it.

PhD in common sense
All I need to know is that the shots are still in Phase 3 of their clinical trials. That and 99.98% survival rate.
It’s not “hesitancy.”
It’s informed NON-consent.
How do you make a personal risk assessment when informed consent is impossible?
I think a lot of this just comes down to trust.
And when it comes to trust, Deep State, Big Pharma, Big Med, Big Tech, the enemedia are ALL flat busted.
The dailies keep calling this ‘hesitancy’.
Hesitancy implies that eventually you will do something, but are delaying.
How about we call it “No F$*@ing Way.”
risk factor = Trump supporter
Extreme WAG: They want to live longer so there can pay off their ed loans.
I may have pushed the boundaries of “extreme” with that one.
