I’m a respiratory therapist. With the fourth wave of the pandemic in full swing, fueled by the highly contagious Delta variant, the trajectory of the patients I see, from admission to critical care, is all too familiar. When they’re vaccinated, their COVID-19 infections most likely end after Stage 1. If only that were the case for everyone.
Get vaccinated. If you choose not to, here’s what to expect if you are hospitalized for a serious case of COVID-19.
Stage 1. You’ve had debilitating symptoms for a few days, but now it is so hard to breathe that you come to the emergency room. Your oxygen saturation level tells us you need help, a supplemental flow of 1 to 4 liters of oxygen per minute. We admit you and start you on antivirals, steroids, anticoagulants or monoclonal antibodies. You’ll spend several days in the hospital feeling run-down, but if we can wean you off the oxygen, you’ll get discharged. You survive.

After having Covid, I must tell everybody here that take all the precautions you deem necessary to avoid getting this horrible virus. I had both inoculations and still got it, and it took me two weeks to get over it.
My brother-in-law is currently in the intensive care unit in Phoenix fighting Covid. The good news is that he’s improving, but he’s been down for over three weeks already. It will be several more weeks before he is finished with his stuff, if he’s lucky.

Day 1 - I developed a cough and later had restricted breathing.
Day 1 evening - I broke out the Dexamethasone, Azithromycine, & Ivermectin (prescribed by an MD for human consumption)
+ Advair
+ All the supplements I've been taking daily (Zinc, D3, C, NAC, Curcumin, etc...
It's the end of Day 3 and I'm fine.

I sure have a problem with this being #1. Did I miss, “Your doctor has prescribed a course of medications to address your symptoms and keep the virus from getting worse.”?
It’s not useful to call people who refuse the vaccination as ‘rubes’.
There are people who have all sorts of health conditions that preclude the dangers of vaccination.
I am sorry to hear of your covid experience, and hope you brother in law is soon better!
I hope he has a full recovery and is home soon.
The one who wrote thought it would be a good idea to start by distracting from the topic with vaccine propaganda, so he doesn’t seem serious.

This is from a nurse who works on patients at the hospital.
Or what about, “You get the virus, feel bad for a few days, and then get over it”. Just like the vast majority of people..
