Any plumbers or contractors in the house? (Vanity)

Posted on 09/07/2021 5:46:35 PM PDT by Jamestown1630

I need a swivel spray attachment for my kitchen sink – one that converts from spray to stream.

We bought a cheap one on Amazon, and the adapter stripped as my husband was trying to install it. Everything in this line on Amazon seems to be very cheap (and Chinese) – selling for 12 dollars or less – and it’s the same with what I’m finding at the big local hardware stores. I’m willing to pay a lot more for something METAL that actually works, from an actual company.

It’s a typical kitchen faucet, the aerator appears to be 15/16 (which is what they seem to call a 3/4” diameter measurement of the outside (apologies if I’m ignorant about all of this – but we ARE.)

If anyone has a suggestion, I’d greatly appreciate it. (We live in an apartment, and can’t use one of those that attach to an opening and pull out with a hose.)

The funny thing is that many years ago, in our first apartment, we bought a cheap one from a small independent hardware store – and it served us very well for many years.

Thanks.

Good ones are not cheap - our kitchen faucet will spray or stream and extends on a metal hose. It’s about 8 years old with no problems, cost was nearly $800 installed. I can’t get under the cupboards any more, not as flexible these days.

I’ve used plastic ones that screwed onto the faucet threads in place of the aerator just fine. Are you sure he didn’t just get heavy handed with the one you have?

I’m a typical man, fix it with duct tape.

Go to the plumbing supply store and buy a brand name Gerber if they have it. Don’t ever buy cheap faucets

Contact a local plumbing supply store and tell them you want something above builder-grade, but not top of the line. They will carry brands that last.

You could have a look at high end Snyder Diamond to see what’s available.

Buy expensive stuff - and only cry once.

You will wonder how you lived (and cooked) without it.

It didn’t come with duct tape - it came with some weird microfiber cloth. I guess that was supposed to help me clean up all the leaks...

I don’t think so, he’s pretty careful; but what’s the difference between the two offered on the item you linked?

“Thanks, that looks lovely, and I’ll save the reference.

But I’m not allowed to change the fixtures here. I just need a little attachment.

AH, didn’t notice that. The RH one I’ve never used. Looks like it will point up to wash your face - and potentially spray water all over the room!

Thanks. I’ll save the reference until I can do whatever I want.

Right now, I just need an attachment that will fit on my spigot.

I played Bookman the Janitor on “Good Times.”

Me, I took over for Jack Nicholson in "The Missouri Breaks" and blasted Marlon Brando twenty feet out of the sheeeit house on the hill.

Fine horse-thief flick although the story has always been that Brando ruined a much better script just by being a big baby and a slob.
