Now they'll have to explain to a federal judge how this isn't a violation of the First Amendment.
The North Carolina ABC's decision to prohibit sales of Flying Dog's Freezin' Season Winter Ale over the beer's label design "seems like a blatant violation of the First Amendment to me,"
Officially, however, all Flying Dog has been told is that the label is "inappropriate" and "in bad taste." That is all it takes for North Carolina to prohibit the beer from being marketed, sold, and distributed.

That said, the underlying reason they banned it; because they can.
That’s Art
Yes, label seems fine to me—looks like an Oliphant cartoon. More important, does the beer tast good?
bkmk
It always make my head spin when I see this label at Sam’s Club.

And Olde Frothingslosh was okay? Gee how times have changed.
Alas Wasatch Brewing has toned down the label of their Polygamy Porter which was somewhat risqué
That said, I have no idea what the picture is or why the state felt the need to ban it.
If you need the reason they [North Carolina Officials] banned the beer to be translated into understandable English, it is thus: Someone in the chain did not get their bribe. Perhaps no one got a bribe. No loot to grease the tracks., the train stops. It is like in Mexico. If one wishes to rob the bank. One first goes to the Chief of Police and inquires of the Chief how much he charges to rob the bank.
—”More important, does the beer taste good?”
A fair question.
As a mostly teetotaler, I can’t answer.
I often hear that Scotsmen are drinkers.
Not in my father’s clan?
At large family reunions, a few will have a beer, very few.
IMO deep inside we know the water is almost free, the beer you must pay for.
The easiest solution is to ban bureaucrats?
—” actually, must do to make them feel better.”
And they constantly pop up with additional demands...
—” label of their Polygamy Porter which was somewhat risqué”
If nothing else the name alliterates nicely.
When I see stories like this, my first thoughts are;
Big something or another is greasing some politician(s) or bureaucrat’s pocket to keep out competition.
Beer companies try anything to make their product stand out but for the most part it all tastes the same to me.
—”I have no idea what the picture is or why the state felt the need to ban it.”
The same reason a large number of citizens(?) are layabouts.
Simply, BECAUSE THEY CAN.

I actually hope that is not the case.
