HALIFAX -- Fredericton Police are asking individuals to avoid the area around the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, saying police are in scene "investigating a file."
In a Twitter post Friday afternoon, UNB says its Fredericton and Saint John campuses, along with its Moncton site, will be evacuated immediately as a precautionary measure.
"Residence students should shelter in place," wrote UNB in a Twitter post.
Police have not provided any other details about the incident.
St. Thomas University is also evacuating, according to a Twitter post.
"We have been advised to close the STU Campus effective immediately and ask everyone to leave until further notice," read the tweet.
Students in residence at STU are asked to remain in their residence hall until further notice.
STU says more information will be provided as it becomes available.
The New Brunswick Community College said on Twitter that it was closing its Fredericton campus and the Allied Health Education Centre campus in Saint John, N.B.
Universities separated by huindreds of miles are all being emptied. Shelter in p[l;ace fopr dorm students....no shooter(s).

What does “investigating a file” mean? Is it some Canadian term? When I was in college I showed up for an exam one day and we were told to evacuate. I presumed somebody just didn’t study for the exam.
Maybe they received warnings about potential attacks at multiple locations.

The RCMP hate telling the People amything.
And the Universitioes just laid down.Where is the warrant or a court order? Nothing.
The Public is not informed. They are not allowed to “help.”
The public can just die, you see. The RCMP is infamous for not warning the public, even with a mass shooter on the loose. They are afraid a member of the public would shoot the mass shooter before the RCMP apprehend him.That actually happened a couple of years ago in Nova Scotia.
