Scott Bakula Says “Significant Conversations” Happening About Possible ‘Quantum Leap’ Reboot

Actor Scott Bakula says “significant conversations” are happening about the possibility of a reboot of his early ’90s sci-fi series Quantum Leap, though whatever talks are happening seem to be in the very early stages.

On the podcast Bob Saget’s Here For You yesterday, guest Bakula suggested that the 1989-93 NBC fantasy series – in which his character time-hopped through various eras by “leaping” into the bodies of other people – could see a new day yet again, though fans probably shouldn’t expect anything too soon.

That show sucked, but you can be sure the new version will be fully woke, diverse and climate correct as they battle the forces that put the evil Trump in office.

It was a fun piece of Don Bellisario escapism from the 1980s, it was never meant to be “epic” television. That said, yes, any reboot is likely to be garbage.

Bakula was a little long in the tooth for a scifi hero role back then. He's even moreso now.

The last year of the show, they introduced the idea of an evil leaper that would show up for Sam to have to deal with. A good writer could do something with this, but as said earlier, with all the wokeness, very little good TV will ever be made again.

I was just a little kid, but loved Time Tunnel. Seem so slick. Now just seems hammy. Frankly I like Quantum Leap also
