A mere 40 minutes later, Wredberg discovered the glimmering gemstone on the ground and handed it to her husband.
The excited gal didn’t initially realize what it was, “but it was clean and shiny, so I picked it up!” she exclaimed.
He added that the pear-shaped rock, which weighed “more than four carats” was about the size of a “jellybean,” making it the largest gemstone discovered at the site this year.

In the few days I was there, I was shown twenty or more finds. For some reason most do NOT report their finds?
Try it you will like it!
I’m planning on going. Have more homework to do before I go, though.
Had planned to name any one I did find "sweetliberty"...
The IRS will shoot their dogs for this.
For some reason most do NOT report their finds?
Probably fear the Gmnt will attack them and a well founded fear these days
They allow you for you to take a 5 gallon bucket of the gravel to go through at home. Supposedly many people find diamonds in this after they go home. I have been there
They allow you to take one 5 gallon bucket of gravel to go through when you get home. Heard many people found diamonds after going through it at home. I have been there. Had a great camping ground

Son and his fam lived in Texarkana for a few years—I had wanted to go, but then he upped and moved up north ;(
Still plan to go someday :)

Kind of fun sifting through the dirt. A lot of people find them right on top of the ground. The best time to search is right after a big rainstorm, but you may want to wait for the ground to dry out a little.
The locals actually find the most, because they are there all the time.
“What park was it?”
What’s that got to do with it?
Idiot editor didn’t even skim the story.
Are you sane? That was the part of the story. Never mind.
My browser isn’t telling me anything like that.
The name of the park is clear in the article.
