We have DSL internet running through PIA VPN. We pay for 10Mbps so we're doing pretty good today.

DSL speeds are typically quite asymmetric, as your post above indicates. Typically about 10:1 down:up.

I had a DSL account with a "bonded pair" of phone lines, giving me 24Mbps down, which was great, but I never got much above 1.2Mbps up. It played hell with video conferencing when I had to run my camera or share my computer screen.
