Nerve disorder Guillain Barre Syndrome has been officially added as a side effect for the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine branded as Covishield in India.
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency of UK has added a serious nerve disorder as a possible side effect to the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine after a handful of cases were linked to the jab.
Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) itself is a rare nerve disorder that can cause paralysis, but recent data has shown the likelihood “of a possible association” to the vaccine “has strengthened,” according to the regulatory agency.
Of the millions who have received the AstraZeneca vaccine, there were 432 reports of GBS possibly stemming from the vaccine. There were 50 similar cases reported for the Pfizer vaccine.
In response, the agency has updated their information on AstraZeneca’s jab to include GBS as a rare, but possible, side effect.
The decision follows the European Medicines Agency adding the nerve disorder as a potential side effect for the vaccine last month.
The EMA’s decision was based on hundreds of reports of GBS possibly linked to the vaccine, which is branded as Vaxzevria. The side effect, however, is still classified as very rare.
In the US, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) previously listed GBS as a very rare side effect for the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Another day, another reason to refuse the vax.
And pulled because of it.
I didn’t think anyone willing to receive the vax would be refused for any reason. It’s good to know some medical professionals are approaching this in an unbiased way.

Getting GBS can quite possibly ruin the rest of your life. My son got it 35 years ago and still deals with the effects of that illness.
I was diagnosed as having a GBS side effect of the 1976/1977 Swine flu injection.
My side effects were and still are:
Pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones!
My right cheekbone was/is the main target. I still have some pain and tenderness along my right cheekbone, particularly when I’m tired and my day hasn’t been one of the better days.
I will be 83 in a couple of weeks, and I’m in pretty good health.
I have sleep apnea, and it is controlled with a good cpap machine. I have one cardiac stent, and I am on a low dose beta blocker and Eliquis and a baby aspirin due to the stent.

Yes, I had a friend who contracted GBS after getting the ordinary flu vaccine in 1985.
It took a year for him to learn how to walk and talk again.

I had a coworker that contracted it about the same time. He never recovered from it and passed away five years later. I decided to never get a flu vaccine ever again, let alone the covid jab.
