Concur. And I will still bet that it will be LENR that produces it first......

The article is so poorly written that I can’t make heads or tails of it. It seems the reaction produced more energy (1.3MJ) than PART of the input, but not the overall input. (1.9MJ), but I can’t tell.

BTW, what ever happened to the ARCCAT that was such a hot topic here on FR a decade ago?

More energy out than in is, yes, a tremendous breakthrough.
Next hard part: gathering enough of the “out” energy to put back in for the next cycle.

What ever happened to small Thorium reactors? They sounded like a viable alternative.

The eco-freaks will find something that makes fusion unacceptable. Just a prediction.

"What ever happened to small Thorium reactors? They sounded like a viable alternative." They are....guess who is building them...modular, molten-salt thorium reactors..

Same here on H Potter. Anyways, the unfortunate situation is this research facility is full of Chinese who will send this tech back home.

A pilot light for a week out of grain of rice sized target. Very neat.
Eh. Decent return until you realize that the grain of rice is made out of gold!

I missed nothing. They were originally written for children. That ought to tell you something..........
Um, that the quality of writing is at an elementary-school level?
If you're trying to imply something sinister, then where's the outrage from the last several years? SciFi and Fantasy have been putting out similar stuff for decades, HP just happened to become more popular than most. Sure, I've seen a bit of complaint on Narnia or Lord of the Rings, but that's not much and nothing on any other major (or minor) books!
