The omicron variant of COVID-19 has shown signs of being less virulent than other strains, with early hospital data out of South Africa indicating that patients infected with the variant require less intensive care.
Researchers at Steve Biko/Tshwane District Hospital Complex, a major hospital complex in Pretoria, South Africa’s capital and the center of the omicron outbreak, reported last week that the majority of patients in the COVID-19 ward there were asymptomatic. Their findings reflect similar trends at hospitals across the province as a whole, leading some infectious disease experts to be cautiously optimistic that omicron may manifest in a milder form of illness.
WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR ABOUT THE OMICRON VARIANT
The analysis of 42 patients in the hospital’s COVID-19 ward found that only nine needed supplemental oxygen. Most of those patients were being treated for conditions other than COVID-19 but were found to be positive for the virus because of the hospital’s mandatory testing for new admissions. The average length of stay in the hospital over the past two weeks was about 2.8 days, far lower than the average 8.5 days for the past 18 months.

Why are they taking up space in a COVID-19 ward when they are asymptomatic?
I have a hunch why.
As of yesterday morning (Mon), at least throughout Europe....not a single person was being admitted into hospitals with Omikron. Couple hundred with it but they all seem to get by with house-rest.

Wall Street is pushing this story.
But the truth is THEY ARE ALL YOUNG. Of course you get mild or no symptoms in 30 yr olds. That oft repeated South African region report starts out in its first few sentences saying “Unlike the previous 18 months, currently over 80% of people in the hospital are under 50 years of age”.
That sentence is not getting any coverage. There is a desperate attempt to save Christmas sales, and the Democrats are at the forefront of it.
We know nothing of Omicron. We won’t know about it until we get a good sample size of 65+ people.
What prompted them to go to the hospital if they have no symptoms? Why do they remain there?
Liars. The truth is it is “less lethal”. Calling it “not more lethal” implies that is just as lethal. False. It is milder. Covid is mutating into a milder flu bug.
Liberal liars will always... but I repeat myself. Liberals are liars by nature.
