Funny you should mention that. It's been a while since I've read about those error codes, and I had somehow missed reading about a 1203.
In any case, these always come to mind:

Okay it's winter so with a slight detour to a related garden topic, columbines (like the Apollo 11 mission) were named for both doves and eagles. This is even weirder because a "columbine" is the flower you get when you "combine" the two.

Well if you ask me, Apollo 11's mission was a big birth announcement "ahead" of its time, on the heels of Apollo 8's famous reading and timing, like the message delivered to Abraham and Sarah.
People would laugh, but when the word needed to get out, the eyes and ears of the entire planet were on Neil. That *is* funny, esp. because of the fixation on and debate over the presence or absence of an "a" in those famous words. Made 'em even more famous!

My favorite Christmas song is the Little Drummer Boy, *the* song that everyone loves to hate. He's the ingenious boy who had nothing to give, so by thinking quickly, he simply gave his all.

I think, if memory serves me right, that most of the scripture reading was off the script. It surprised NASA as much as it pleased a vast majority of the American public.
I have a disdain for stupid writers.
There is no such thing as ‘Earthrise’ on the Moon (save for perhaps a very, very narrow band when viewed from the Moon’s surface).
And I’m ignoring the fact that the egregious lie originated with NASA.

I would have to wonder about anyone who wasn’t profoundly affected by being in space and seeing the universe in all its immensity.
If you recall, ‘68 was rather an awful year. Riots, Tet, Paris barricades, HHH running for President...the story is that one of the other astronauts told Borman that “you saved ‘68”.
That was probably the least of it. What he did was very clearly communicated to the rest of mankind that we are part of something far greater then we can ever imagine, and we shouldn’t forget that.

I searched DDG and couldn't find a reference to a NASA policy implemented after Apollo 8 regarding Bible references by astronauts on mission, but my memory is that NASA did implement such a policy. And I have no memory of the Bible being referenced on mission since Apollo 8. We know Buzz Aldrin celebrated holy communion on the lunar surface during Apollo 11 but that was a private affair that was revealed much later after the fact.
She was a miserable woman.
And if memory serves me right, she was murdered by her son in TX.

I don't know if you have seen it, but the HBO video series "From The Earth to The Moon" has an episode about Apollo 8, and it is so beautifully done, none of the "woke" crap in it, even though Tom Hanks produced it. For some reason, they don't show the Genesis reading anywhere, but this was the lead up to it:

I remember a profound sense of relief on December 31, 1968. While some may have felt and expressed similar feelings as 2020 departed, 1968 was awful and, unlike 2021, 1969 proved to be genuinely better. Now the suck just doesn’t seem near ending.
