Many, many years ago when I was a newly married yoot my bride and I decided to rent an apartment. For privacy you see.
Being newlyweds we were doing our best to live up to the stereotype. We soon found out we were pretenders.
We had the upper right apartment in a four-plex.
Below us lived a beautiful single young lady who was rather LOUD as a lover. The wife and I would laugh whenever we heard her SHOUTING encouragement or instructions to her lover, of which there seemed to be a different one every 5 or 6 weeks.
The couple in the upper left unit, beside us seemed like nice people with two small kids. They divorced about six months into our years lease. The newly divorce lady then played the tramp. A different fella every weekend. Sometimes 2 or 3 in a week. This lovely woman was making up for lost time. She even seemed intent on bedding the young newlywed that lived next door.
The lower left apartment was vacated by an older couple and sublet to a lesbian pair.
HORRORS! Lesbians! I thought they only existed in....never mind.
Those carpet munchers fought every damned weekend. LOUDLY. With much cursing, calling of foul names and rending of garments.
Finally they outdid themselves one Friday night. I don’t know if it was the sounds of things breaking or the threats of death and dismemberment but someone, not moi, called the constabulary. Both were locked up for the night at least. My bride later found out they had done close to $6,000 in damages. A lot of money back in 1973.
Yeah, we moved back to the farm as soon as our lease was up.
