Surfing icon Kelly Slater will be banned from competing in Australia if he refuses to get the Covid jab, the Sports Minister Richard Colbeck has warned.
The 11-time world surfing champion, 49, has is yet to reveal his vaccination status but has made waves online railing against jab mandates and posting anti-vax rhetoric to his social media pages during the pandemic.
Mr Colbeck said the American will face a wipeout similar to world No. 1 tennis star Novak Djokovic who was sensationally booted from the country on the eve of the Australian Open, if he fails to prove he's vaccinated.

I hope the freedom-loving Australians make all these tyrants pay for the needless suffering, hardship and annoyance they have caused.
Not sure how “freedom loving” they are considering a majority support Novak getting the boot without the jab.

After reading the reports out of Australia and knowing a number of Australians, I would say Kelly Slater is probably going to benefit more from not going there than traveling there to compete.

Don’t you just love the unbiased reporting... “online railing” and “anti-vax rhetoric.” If this were a cause the leftist media supported, the reporters would be talking about his “brave stand against authorities” or “principled stand against pro-vax rhetoric.”
It must be a bummer to be a freedom-loving surfer these days. Most of the world’s best surfing beaches are located in areas ruled by fascists and socialists like Australia, California and Hawaii.
Surfing is about freedom and organizing it was the first step to ruining it. Go to a beach, surf and ignore the ruined ‘organized’ part.
So you are saying that we have gained no knowledge about COVID in over two years? Governments should still be doing what they did at the outset of the pandemic in early 2020?
It’s amazing just how quickly Australia went from being a self-reliant pioneer country to a woke welfare ridden population of gibmedats.
Kelly is uber conscious and restrictive about what he puts in his body. It would be very surprising if he gets the jab and he’s a world class athlete at almost 50. He would certainly handle getting COVID just fine. He’s also a hero figure in Australia where surfing is almost the national sport. It would be quite a blow to their authority if he takes a stand on his surfboard! Go Kelly!
