Tomorrow is the beginning of our ordeal with my dog's osteosarcoma.

He is hopefully getting his lungs x-rayed to see if it has already spread.

Next week, he is going to the oncology vet hospital in Leesburg VA to see what can be done to save him, or least keep him with me as long as possible.

It's no secret that this dog is my whole world and the only thing keeping me halfway sane, as most of you know my life story with the pedo uncle and the PTSD.

To make this even worse than it already is, his half-sister dropped dead in the yard on November 7th so I'm really curb stomped, emotionally and barely hanging on.

Y'all have been the family I chose for over 20 years and who I turn to, when things are looking bleak.

I'm pretty much staring into an abyss of despair right now so any prayers or support is a Godsend and something I desperately need.

And since I have literally no pride where my dogs are concerned, I could use help with his bills, as well.

Even though he has insurance, it does not pay the really high specialist consultation fees or office visits and it's probable I'll have to pay out of pocket and wait to be partially reimbursed.

I've even tried to sell my bike to get the money up but winter and Bidenomics have produced no takers.

If he is gone, I'm not going to care about that thing anyway as my life will pretty much be shut down for a very, very long time.

Of all horrors I have or will ever face, being too broke to save my dog's life is at the top of the list.

I have NEVER in my life been this terrifed.

Forgive me for begging, but every little bit helps. Prayers too, because God can move mountains and prayers can move God.

Thank you all.

Shari,

As someone too who is utterly devoted to our animals, my heart is full for you. We, the lovers of animals completely understand how traumatic it is when they get ill.
My prayers are with you & your beloved baby.

I will pm you tomorrow. ((Hugs))

God bless you and your companion.

We, too, are in the midst of buying our vet a new boat trying to save one of ours from a severe stomach malady. Two nights in the hospital saved her, and so far she’s responding well to our last-hope solution. Sweetist thing alive, this Cavvie.

Prayers work!

What??

He’s not even limping.

He’s still living life at 90mph.

He gets every chance there is.

Thank you!

I hope everyone forgives me if I don’t answer y’all much longer.
I’ve been preparing the car for the trip and I’m just worn out.

We have a very long day ahead of us tomorrow and I haven’t been eating.

Need to try and force something down and try to nap a bit.

Dear God, in Jesus precious name, please bless my dog with healing and many more years to come.

Amen!

Harsh as this sounds, don’t be selfish. Being a great and loving dog, the dog deserves a great and loving owner. When it’s time, you know it’s time, and step up to be your dog’s loving guardian and hero.

Every story i hear of prolonging a dog’s life, to the point of incontinence usually, i have to remind that as a sentient being, an especially good dog is ashamed, embarrassed, mortified, to soil himself and crap himself inside a house. Do not think you are making the dog happy.

When it’s time, you know what to do. And yes we are praying for you. Be the dog’s hero. We will all grieve with you. But it’s the right thing to do.

Heck no!

He’s doing so well the vet who xrayed his leg Jan. 7 was sure it wasn’t cancer because he’s not limping or off his feed or even remotely slowing down one little bit.

He was as shocked as we were by the xray.

I was told to no longer let him run amok in the yard with his toys because of the possibility of a break and it’s been terrible trying to keep him restrained.

He is still full speed ahead and full of himself.

*I* am the one falling apart.

:(

You give me hope.

We need a miracle, too and you are proof they happen.

Cancer is really difficult to go through. First find out what kind of pain he is in. Dogs are so stoic and they love us so much they don’t want to let go. It’s up to you to figure it out. I know it’s hard, I’ve lost too many to cancer so believe me I do know.

There is a pet credit card that will help you at least pay for his chemo. You can pay it off over years. Ask your vet about it. But please, make sure it’s the best thing for your beloved dog and not just because you can’t let him go.
